Black Mold in Natural Stone in Israel

In a building forum I found a question about black mold appearing on natural stone surfaces in Israel. The forum's official answerer was a lawyer, a lawyer!, so the answer was legalistic and had nothing to do with the actual problem (see below, and also read if you know Hebrew and are interested in the question). My take is that Israeli stone is mostly sandstone based on calcium carbonates, which is permeable to water and forms small tubes that allows the water to rise by פעילות נקובית capillary action. Therefore, stone that is in contact with wet soil (in winter, for example) transmits the humidity to the surface and allows the development of fungus. When the dry season arrives, the stone dries and the fungus may enter into fructification and sporulation, causing allergic attacks. However, the mold is generally black and visible. How can be it remedied? Firt, isolation of the stone from the soil by animpermeable layer (it should have be done at the construction phase), second, treat the stone by artificial chemicals to make it impervious to water.

בד"כ סימנים אלו נובעים מפיטריות הגדלות בתוך האבן כתוצאה מרטיבות תחת משטח הריצוף. ברוב המקרים ניתן לצפות בכתמים אלו גם על פסי הרובה שלאורך המשיקים. הרטיבות תחת משטח הריצוף יכולה לנבוע משתי אפשרויות עקריות.
פגיעה באטימה אשר בין אריחי הריצוף (הרובה): יש לבדוק חזותית את מצב הרובה לאורך המשיקים ולאטום מקומות שנראים פרוצים. במצבים קיצונים בהם הרובה במצב גרוע יש לחרוץ את המשיקים ולאטום מחדש.
המקרה החמור יותר נובע עקב פיצוץ בצינור תחת מצע הריצוף. במקרה זה סימני הפטריות על האריחים הם רק קצה הקרחון או יותר נכון התחלת הבעיה. עם הזמן יופיעו פטריות גם על משקופי הדלתות וכן החלק התחתון של קירות הבית יתנפח והצבע יתקלף. בד"כ פיצוץ בצינור מתחיל בזרזיף חלש ואח"כ לזרם עז. הנזקים המצטברים למערכות הבית עלולים להיות עצומים.
במקרה ולא מוצאים את מקור הרטיבות יש לזמן שרברב על מנת לנסות למצוא את מקור הדליפה.
לאחר פתרון הבעיה הפטריות יתייבשו והתופעה תיעלם
