Last week Dienekes Pontykos blogger published not one but two notes on Ashkenazi Jews, all showing their separateness and large genetic distance from the European stock. In my view, any excessive interest in Jews signals antisemitism, but the facts (see graph) are not in dispute and are interesting.
But his main fixation is with the Greek genotype (the historically unexplained but significant African element bothers him. He is a scientist that strives to demonstrate that Greeks are blond and blue-eyed). But firstly we are humans (not everybody agrees), second we are Greeks, Germans, Celts, Jews or whatever, and only then scientists.

You are doubtless correct about antisemitism; but there is something else going on, ie a lot of thoughtful people in the West see in Israel a struggle for existence and identity that the West will be fighting in a decade or two's time. Indeed it has already started. And intellectuals in the West are also conflicted about what to do, how much to give up, and the ethical issues of immigration. What Israel does could "give permission" for timid and guilt-soaked Westerners to finally make a stand for Western Civilisation, including free speech (which has already disappeared from some Western countries; eg soon it will be dangerous to talk about evolution, etc in public).
Indeed we are all humans. But like any population, there is much variety. This is a source of both much promise and much danger. Are we managing this in the most intelligent way?
