Reading Hungarian racist literature, freely available on the internet, one can see the development of racial quotas in Hungary (and its sudden disappearance). The table above (in Hungarian) shows Jewish population increase Eastern Europe. Since Jews tend naturally to gravitate towards education, the increase in their numbers and their assimilation into European society put a great stress on universities and later on the intellectual professions (medicine, law, engineering). The problem became acute in Hungary, which after the Trianon agreements lost 75% of its population but only half of its Jewish population, so their proportion suddenly increased and the competition for university post and civil service jobs, the existencial basis of Hungarian lower middle class, became very crowded. Starting with the medical professions, racial quotas were imposed in Hungary. My father could not study in the university because Jews were excluded (Numerus Nullus). Many went to study in Switzerland, or France, that had no quotas. The loss was Hungary's alone but they felt as they were winning instead. In summary, I cannot be for racial quotas, since they end by excluding Jews from advancement. And quotas tend to be followed by ethnic cleansing. America has a complex system in place, most visible in the universities. Since Jews are such a minuscule minority and they are classed with Whites in general, they are not much hurt. The Chinese are the big losers, since a great number of qualified Chinese are discriminated against - without quotas, they would be majority in most serious schools.
The thing came to my mind reading a comment in Steve Sailer's blog.
After Obama Jr's bio-Dad, Obama Sr, abandoned Obama Jr & his mother, Ann Dunham, he was said to have gone off to Harvard to get some sort of a graduate degree. However, there is no evidence in the Harvard library that Obama Sr ever filed either a Master's Thesis or a PhD Dissertation. For that matter, there is no evidence there that Obama Jr has ever written anything other than Dreams & Audacity. You know, one obvious candidate for an explanation here is that both Obama Sr & Obama Jr were quota admissions as students [and/or quota hires as employees], and that neither of them was ever capable of writing any serious intellectual work.It bears reason to think that Barak Obama was accepted in Harvard and got the editor job thanks to positive discrimination, that is, because of his race. People tend to flow towards the path of least resistance, in this case, he succeeded in the race issue and followed a career in race politics. It also stands to reason to presume that if elected President, he will follow the same path, promoting racial quotas and advancing Black people to important jobs following the criterion that 15 - 25% of all jobs should go to Black people. It could be interesting if a racial quota system is universally imposed in America. In South Africa it was, but there Blacks were already more than 90% in the sixties, so "equality" in public service jobs and land ownership, seemed then just and reasonable. The results are there for everybody to see. South Africa's GNP seems to be growing very nicely.

South Africa is more complex than this. It is buoyed artificially by the gold price, and by tourism that are not exports in the conventional sense. Certainly apartheid was economically inefficient and there was a boom when it was abandoned, for several reasons including the lifting of sanctions. But racial quotas are not compatible with genuine economic freedom and essentially come to constitute a sort of tax. It might be worth it for racial peace, but there will be a productivity price to pay. Also, they do not have a grip on the criminal violence and seem to lack the will to control it.
