Mofaz minces no words in Farsi

"The Iranian regime is the No. 1 threat to mankind in the 21st century. It is a multi-dimensional, multi-armed threat, which increases every day, every hour," said Mofaz. "If Iran continues with its program for developing nuclear weapons, we will attack it. The sanctions are ineffective. Attacking Iran, in order to stop its nuclear plans, will be unavoidable."

A few years ago, Mofaz made the unique gesture of answering questions from listeners in Iran – in their own language - in a live broadcast over Israel Radio’s Farsi-language service. In answer to one, he promised everything would be done to protect the environment against radioactive fallout should Israeli forces destroy Iran’s nuclear capability.

The Mofaz family is from Isfahan, an important city north of Teheran. Iran's uranium enrichment facilities are in Isfahan. There, uranium is converted into uranium hexafluoride (UF6), which in its gaseous form is spun at high speed in the centrifuges to extract the fissile isotope.

Whatever one thinks of Mofaz, it is undeniable that he has a shining, brilliant head.
