Uncollected Debts: A Genetic Defect

I was telling my Mother that my clients were not paying and they owed me an important sum. She told me that my Father had the same problem, after the war when he took over his Father's business, he lost the equivalent of several houses's worth of money because he sold merchandise on credit, as his own father used to do, but he did not collect the debt, pitying the poor people. So now I know, I have this genetic defect and I am doomed to be a very bad businessman.
