Change

The USA Census Bureau released projections through 2050, based on rates for births, deaths and immigration. The US’ 305 million population is expected to grow to 400 million in 2039 and 439 million in 2050.

By 2050, whites will make up 46 percent of the population and blacks will make up 15 percent, a relatively small increase from today. Hispanic will account for 30 percent in 2050, double their current share. Asians, which make up about 5 percent of the population, are projected to increase to 9 percent by 2050. Jews's numbers have been falling for generations, so they will be less than 1% of the poplation.

Guessedworker, a blogger and rightist ideologue, reacts:
Minority status itself is something that has not really been given sufficient thought.
I presume he has Zimbabwe and South Africa before his eyes, but the US will never be South Africa. Maybe a very rich Mexico or Brazil. The trend is toward integration and mixing, not towards hardening of racial castes. The American Presidential family shows the way, and they are already "Mexican" Bushes. The film "Giant" with James Dean, which dealt with Gringo-Mexican intermarriage, was a long time ago, and America does not care anymore.

Some antisemitic commenters of GW's article say American Jews conceived this demographic change in 1880 to take over the country, and they wonder how "they pulled it off". I have yet to digest his article, but its tone does not ring well for American Jews. Should America go the way of a racially polarized society, many Jews will find themselves looking for another place to live. Some may even choose Israel. Because being a minority in an ethnically polarized country is not a good place to be, but being a minority within a minority is even less attractive.

Hispanic is not a race. The Hispanics will disappear into the American melting pot as their fellow Catholics the Italians and Irish did before (they were also once considered separate "races").

My mother-in-law has a friend that she met during WWII, when their husbands were stationed together at a base in Oregon (the war really did bring all ethnic groups together - Jews from the eastern cities, farmers from the Midwest, Indians from reservations, etc., just like you see in old movies, all except for blacks who at that time still had their own segregated units). Her friend and her late husband were 100% pure Mexican (I don't recall if they came to the US as small children or were born here). Mexicans have been coming to the US forever and her parents came to San Francisco in the 1920s. Anyway, a couple of years ago we visited this friend in California. She herself is very Americanized, all except for her walnut brown skin, but what really shocked me was when she proudly showed us pictures of her granddaughter. Her granddaughter looked like a Dutch girl with reddish blond hair and very fair complexion - all signs of her Mexican ancestry had disappeared in only 1 generation. Their daughter had married a man of Northern European extraction and poof, it was all gone - the Mexican name, the Mexican coloring in their children, etc.

Of course is not a race. It is a caste. It will be absorbed in time and disappear.

Interestingly, the Census Bureau expects some 100 million more of them in the next generation. If so, why is the USA erecting a separation fence in its Mexican Border? 100 million is the whole population of Mexico. The two countries should be merged.

Good idea. I think Israel and Jordan should be merged, too. And they should take a few hundred thousand Egyptian immigrants every year. It's the future, jews, stop resisting it.
