Venezuela Unfriendly to the Jews

As Venezuela is sliding toward some kind of neo-Communism, trying to re-create a socialist international, it is increasingly hostile toward Jews. Hugo Chavez has expelled Israeli Ambassador Shlomo Cohen in protest against what he called Israel's "barbaric" military operation in Gaza. This is only the visible tip of an iceberg of unfriendly acts, such as the expropiation of a large mall built by a Jewish businessman outside the San Bernadino district in Caracas. In addition, twice in recent years Venezuelan military forces have raided the 1,400-pupil Jewish school in the Los Chorros neighborhood, ostensibly looking for arms. Now with the diplomatic mission forced to leave, Jewish educators and businessmen will stop travelling to Venezuela. The pic show the electric distribution pole in a Caracas barrio.

Why are they doing this?

It seems just gratuitously stupid to me, what they are doing. They must have an ulterior motive.

Are they trying to suck up to Iran?

Anon.

Hugo Chavez is a communist (socialist) and has expropriated all foreign investments in Venezuela. He is building up an anti American coalition which includes Cuba, Ecuador, Bolivia, Iran and possibly other countries. He has called President Bush ¨Satan¨ in the United Nations Assembly. He is a bad person. His anti-Israeli position is basically directed against the United States. We in Israel (and Jews by extension) are perceived by this ignorant Latin dictator as an American puppet.

That utility pole reminds me of an article in the AZ republic, it said that in Mexico city a large part of the power generated by the state owned power company is stolen by pirate hookups.
