While one guru (example: Mogambo) says that the dollar is inflating, others say that it is deflating.
The dollar is “the best-looking horse in the glue factory” among major currencies, said Robert Blake, head of strategy for North America in Boston at State Street Global Markets LLC, which has $11.3 trillion in assets under custody.

It is possible, in my simplistic mind, that both processes could be going on simultaneously, and giving the "illusion of nothing".
Sooner or later one of them will win out.
I think inflation will win,in the medium term, since it serves the interests (ie re-election and debt devaluation)of those who control the printing presses.
In this time of crisis we see how strong is America. Instead of collapsing, America and its currency is strengthening. The Chinese are trembling but they did not take one dollar out of America, on the contrary, they are adding more. People that had their money in London are transferring it to New York. Everybody believes in the dollar and buying dollars. It is the best looking horse in the glue factory, as it was put.
