Dry Summer in Samaria

This morning I had a job in Northern Samaria and passed though many Palestinian villages. They seem a little more prosperous these days. Many shining new taxis and luxury cars. They like Mercedes Benz. There is a severe water shortage. Water is being sold on the streets (pic taken when passing through a Palestinian village in Samaria: A water seller tractor with tank. Click on the pic to see better. See on the rooftops the black plastic water tanks. The sign board left of the road, "Nagariat HaShalom" in Hebrew. Translation: The Peace Carpentry Shop.)

Holy crap, that village could be Superior, or Globe, or...(shudders)...Hayden.

It does look more prosperous than Hayden though, but it seems disorganized and run down.

You see that tower? Does Hayden have a minaret?

Not yet?

Is Merecedes Benz like the Ford of the rest of the world? It is strange to me to see it all over Europe and Israel, while it is a luxury brand in the states.

Hayden has a copper smelter with a 1000 foot high exhaust stack (wiki).

Hayden is a shithole of a little town, I wasn't complimenting the Palestinian village/settlement.

Mercedes Benz is a luxury car in the Middle East. In Israel you pay 150% tax on it = it may cost you 60,000 US$. Palestinians love it.
