Reality Hits Me on the Head, Again

The Brother of President Correa of Ecuador was "temporarily suspended" from contracting with the Ecuatorian state. The papers are very cautious in reporting about this issue but it is clear that the Presidential Brother has been receiving very large contracts from Petro Ecuador.
Los contratos de cuatro entidades estatales con empresas en las que tiene intereses económicos Fabricio Correa, hermano del Primer Mandatario, causa malestar y fricciones al interior de Alianza País y en el bloque que tiene el control de la Comisión Legislativa.
Under the cloak of socialism, bolivarism, solidarism, antiglobalism, antiamericanism, amero-indianism, rain-forestism, etc., the reality is that stealing goes on like always. Each time I am shocked anew by reality. I was not born yesterday, I should not be surprised.

rain-forestism

Ok, that was good.

rain forestism is a religion that maintains that trees are sacred and the livelihood of people should be sacrificed to them.

I take it you heard about the fight over the Northern Spotted Owl?

Is that pest still around?

For now yes, but from what I read on wiki a few months ago it is still dying out, despite the decrease in logging.

When I was a little kid I remember seeing the aftermath of the Spotted Owl fight on the nightly news.

Also, back in Oregon I remember seeing a bumper sticker related to the fight:

Due to a shortage of paper product, wipe your ass with a spotted owl.
