Lakritz's Road Rage, or How They Never Learn

The outcome results are in and they are exactly as predicted. Now we know what happened to those Russian Jews who, in that famous train station in Vienna during the nineteen seventies, walked towards the HIAS train taking them to the USA and Germany, all while the Sochnut shlichim (representatives) were begging them to take the train to Israel. It is all (well) written down in "Road Rage: Ode to Madness for Politically Incorrect Russian-Jewish Choir", by Lev Lakritz. First sentence, that says it all:

We are back where we started, getting used to the idea of hitting the road again. We google the earth, check our suitcases’ zippers, locate the steel needle and whatever is left of the thread.

It is Thuesday morning here and I have much work, so commenting will be done later. Not that I have much to add. It was so obvious from the start. And my own conclusion is so simple: Leave the Galut and make aliyah. Not for you, because you are dead and lost for the Jewish people, but most for your children and grandchilden, who still can be saved.
