Saving the Rimac River

When in Lima, Peru, I used to walk near the Rimac River, the singing river that gives life to the capital. It is impossible, because people has built shantyhouses on the very river, leaving only a central stonu path. This year, Jorge Luis Baca, a lawyer, organized the first discovery expedition along the river, a 21 days 145 Km trek down from the mountains and mines to the Base Naval Callao where the river enters the Pacific. I would have loved to walk with them. For me, it is too late. May be in my next re-incarnation.
