The Italian mafia have stepped in to offer a new service to their existing business line -- illegal waste dumping. In 2008, about 20 percent of waste "disappeared" from the monitored waste stream. It would be interesting to know how much disappears in Israel. I presume about 30 - 50% finds its way to Shomron and Yehuda's illegal dumping sites operated by Palestinians.
