Gershon Mesika, chairman of the Shomron Regional Council in Samaria, refused to meet with Defense Minister because of the demolition order of Havat Gilad, located on privately owned Jewish land near Kedumim.
This is a farce. Barak's right hand has been evading for years to sign legal bulding permits and now his left hand wrecks those communities that he calls illegal because he himself did not approve them.True and true. But this IS the Israeli system, this is how Israel works. The bureaucracy almost never grants a permit for anything, allowing the power-to-be to declare anything illegal any time they wish.

Why aren't building permits issued locally at the city and county level? What business does the national government have issuing permits for the use of *private* land?
Let me qualify that: I think Israel is divided into districts that may or may not have have power, not counties, but I think my point is still valid.
You will remember that the Israeli permitting is multi-level, we have local committees, regional committees, and a national planning unit. And we have environmental ministry permits, and so on.
Ok, you are correct, I forgot you mentioned that.
Shomron Regional Council Head said it perfectly! It is so sad how politicians make a mockery of the "law". Settlements and housing are considered illegal because Barak doesn't sign a paper! There are some communities in Israel that didn't have final approvals for 30,40, and even 50 years, but they were never considered illegal!
n the meantime, here is a powerful movie we just launched online for free that gives another perspective on the misuse of "politics" being abused against the people: Menorah Chazani's movie Hitnaari online for free for a few more days
