From Slate: During the 1980s, the Norwegian government funneled about $350 million to activists in South Africa to fund the anti-apartheid movement. The government sent the money via the Church of Norway and into the hands of Bjarne Lindstrom. Lindstrom was officially a Norwegian diplomat, but much of his work focused on providing money, counsel, and organizing space to grass-roots anti-government groups. He also sheltered activists who were wanted by the South African police.
Norway financing and organizing against a foreign government? The corollarium is that most probably they are also funding Hamas in Gaza.
Addendum: Suddenly I realized that wealthy and distant Norway had waged a secret war against the Rhodesian and South African governments. Why would they do such a thing? Good intentions, of course. PC good intentions. This PC thing is a White suicide cult.

Norway has a few contradictions in its foreign policy. On one hand Norway gave money to the SWAPO movement that was fighting to separate from South Africa.
On the other hand Norway is divided internally between Eurosceptics that only want to trade with the bloc and eurofederalists that want to engage in full union with Brussels. So far the sceptics have won with Norway remaining only a member of the European Economic Area and not a full member of the EU.
I say that these two are contradictory since one one hand Norway values its independence and on the other hand Norway wants to support leftist causes on the other side of the planet. In that way Norway is like the US. We want our independence and at the same time we have a very destructive foreign policy towards countries that either should be our allies, or that we should ignore.
By now Norwegians should acquire the good sense to stay at home and eat raw fish. These misguided people did the same in Sri Lanka sucking up to the LTTE in order to help the Tamils. After the victory of Rajapaksa over the LTTE last March, the Tamils in the North are worse off than before. They should have abandoned the LTTE a long time ago, once it was clear that it had no intention of living in peace.
Ivan, I think Norway would be best served by a policy of neutrality, or at least neutrality towards the world beyond Europe.
Totally unrelated to your post, but today I finally bought a new gas cap to replace the one I lost a week ago. The front of the package stated the steel gas cap was made in Israel, with the cap itself bearing the name Motorad.
Now my '80 Datsun is whole and I can stop worrying about gas spilling out of my tank.
I hope they are happy with what they have achieved in Zimbabwe, and the increasingly horrifying crime, and corruption in South Africa.
Perhaps they could offer some money to the victims, who are now more and more the innocent and vulnerable whites. But I doubt that sympathy for suffering humanity was ever a real motivation.

Why should Norway, a small wealthy country in the far North, subvert Third World governments? They want to save them from themselves?
My personal theory is that the Norwegians generally follow the conventional wisdom, which in the modern age is usually leftist except when they have visible proof of the CW being wrong, such as their rejection of full union with Brussels. Southern Africa is simply too far away for the average Norwegian to have any knowledge of and therefore their foreign policy in the 70's was simply guided by the prevailing belief in anti-racism and decolonization which would explain why the Norwegian government supported the South West African People's Organization's fight to secede from Apartheid SA.
In the case of Norwegian support for the fall of apartheid, the nords were following the conventional wisdom, which was set by the United States.
You should have a new tag for posts like this such as "country studies" so that you can do a series of posts on countries to see if they are friendly to Israel.
They were only interested in subverting white Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and white -controlled South Africa. Whatever names they were called, third world they were not.
But now Zim is actually fourth world and SA, in some respects, is teetering on the brink.

If you believe in conspiracies or Satan it could be considered a well thought and executed plot to destroy an entire race, and its allies in the East such as Taiwan.
I think I have single explanation for Norway's foreign policy.
For 500 years the Scandinavian countries have copied the European mainland while maintaining their political independence. A good example is religion. Norwegian Lutheranism is basically Catholicism in all of its forms without the loyalty to the Pope. Everything from the dead ceremony to the weekly communion to the modern liberalism of NL is identical to what comes out of the Catholic church.
Nowadays the European continent practices ecopaganism, and Norway has copied this without joining a carbon exchange or submitting to the EU completely. Instead Norway has internal carbon taxes collected by the national government, not Brussels or the UN.
In short Norway is willing to copy the declared morality of the times if it is left alone politically.
To this day Norway continues its 500-year old policy of trading with the European continent while not joining the EU.
I'm not sure if Norway was being cynical in supporting SWAPO or if it truly believed the bile being spewed by the US at the time.
