Morning Anxiety

Well, I have it. One fellow sufferer recommends having a snack next to your bed to eat when you first wake up to help get your blood sugar going. The best for her was having positive statements around. "I had one on my alarm clock that read "This may be hard today but I CAN DO IT". Then on my bathroom mirror and closet drawer I had a couple more affirmations that lifted my spirits. Also listening to my favorite music in the morning on my mp3 player helped to distract me from my loud morning thoughts."

I have no thoughts, I have a stressful feeling in my stomach.

And to what do you ascribe this malaise?

Serotonin.

That is the proximate, not the ultimate cause.

Mother is in hospital.

Still? It sounds like a problem that cannot be solved so easily. Probably, she is your only surviving parent.

This is always a difficult transition, no matter your own age, with an evocation of abandonment and a peculiar kind of loneliness, as well as the usual feelings of introspection, philosophical doubt and existential angst.

Perhaps you fell the debt of your existence, more than normal. Obviously, she managed to survive when others did not.

Good luck with it.
