Unforgettable Images

Of course I am referring to Jenny (see below). She has left a deep impression on the psyche of the adolescent boys of my generation. The book was even better, and I am still digesting the idea of discovering some secret Sanctuary in the way Logan does in the book.

In the book, he happens to peel back a masking tape on an old wall map, and to his surprise an unknown island is there, which is not marked in regular maps. He decides to investigate this island and finds the Sanctuary, where a group of beautiful Olympians enjoy eternal life while a computer manages the city he thought was the whole world. These divine immortals renew their bodies as they age by taking young ones from the City. The secret purpose of the City, then, is to produce perfect young human beings tu use by the Immortals.

Logan, who by discovering and entering the Sanctuary has demonstrated curiosity, intelligence, courage and self-motivation, is then invited to join the Immortals, as apparently the recruitment method of this exclusive group is by self-selection. But Logan decides - somewhat to my surprise - to destroy the whole operation and to free the perfect bodies.

To escape from DomesCity, Logan and Jenny Agutter have to overcome several obstacles, such as this giant ice robot guard.
