What is Happening with Iran?

During the last two weeks Iran and Ahmedenijad disappeared from the media. What happened? Apparently, Iran accepted the American offer of buying highly concentrated fissible material from Russia, or to send its uranium to be refined here. It accepted full inspection by international atomic energy agencies. Is this the end of the Iranian atomic weapon? I dont know, it is too good to be true.

Another interesting thing is the absolute silence of the Israeli media about Ahmedenijad's origin. All the do is to translate and publish The Guardian's note on the subject. If anyone knows if Ahmedenijad's family was Jewish is Israel. I have two Persian families in my building, and Kever Benjamin City's main street is full of Persian shops. Just now the downstair family is having their Kabbalat Shabat dinner, and their prayers and table talk sounds exactly as Ahmedenijad. No one says anything. Israel's official position in this cases is no comment, silence.

In the current elections in Ucraine, the candidate for the presidency in Ukraine elections in January 2010, Arseny Petrovich Yatsenyuk, is "a Jew". Of course, in antisemitic Ucraine this is a very strong slander and he is denying it. On the other hand, the local Chabad movement (the "Vodka Jews") is accusing him of moral cowardice, for hiding instead proclaiming publicly his Jewish origin. I have no idea if he is or not, but in the intellectual desert of Ucraine, any good economist (such as the candidate) must necessarily be suspected of having a Jewish head. Israeli bloggers from Russian origin all agree he must be a Jew and that he should make aliya instead of being a politician in a land of savages.

"Who is a Jew" is popular game in Eastern Europe.

Remember Medvedev of Russia was accused by some in Russian media of having Jewish mother when elected president in 2008.

I hope President Medvedev is Jewish.

It will increase Jewish influence and create more conspiracy theories!

The Russians have a love-hate relationship with Jews. A case in point is Vladimir Zhirinovsky, he was very unhappy that Jews that seemed to be benefit from the fall of the Soviet Union. But after a trip to Israel he became more sympathetic to the Jews. I think that most of the difficulties that the Jews have with Russians and Slavs are of this variety.

A case in point is Vladimir Zhirinovsky,

Zhirinovsky is Jew!

Zionist plot deepens!

Zhirinovsky has been widely accused of anti-Semitism (he also suggested that Jews were often to blame for anti-Semitism[6]) for statements in which he accused Jews of ruining Russia, sending Russian women to foreign countries as prostitutes, selling children and organs to the Western world, and provoking the Holocaust. He repeatedly denied his father's Jewishness until he published Ivan Close Your Soul in July 2001, describing how his father, Volf Isaakovich Eidelshtein, changed his surname from Eidelshtein to Zhirinovsky. He rhetorically asked, "Why should I reject Russian blood, Russian culture, Russian land, and fall in love with the Jewish people only because of that single drop of blood that my father left in my mother's body?"[10]

Someone should tell Zhirinovsky that it was not blood.

BTW the mother of Medvedev is a Shaposhnikov. Medvedev is entitled to make aliyah.

J, there are times when it seems every third person under discussion on this blog is entitled to make aliyah.
