The demand for my water engineering services is getting momentum, people is pressuring me to work on their projects and lately the post has improved and cheques are arriving. Just now I have this man waiting at the other side of the internet: the Ma'atz (National Roads Company) bulldozers and asphalt carpeting machines are advancing like the Wehrmacht toward his property and he needs detailed drawings. The man has a "kombina" (arrangement) with the road contractor that he will moonlight his equipment and personnel to build the man's private pipeline on the roadside. I should be preparing the drawings but my mind is on other things. I am glad no one can read my mind. Or can they?

She is quite attractive. Coincidentally, I was watching an Entourage marathon featuring her last night. Believe it or not, the show runners cast Malcolm McDowell as her father.

Strictly speaking, she is not a Ladino-speaking descendent of the original Spanish and Portuguese Jewry, from Sepharad. Morocco had several different Jewish communities, from the Atlas mountain dwellers to Berber speaking Jews, and of course the Ladino speaking communities in Fez and Casablanca. Here we call them Mizrahim, Eastern Jews, forgetting that Morocco is to the West of Israel (and Poland).
