Arutz Sheva: We Are the Universe's Navel

The Democrats lost Massachussetts and Arutz Sheva right-wing internet site thinks it is because Obama's Middle East policies,
which have starkly contrasted with the Republicans' demand that the Palestinian Authority fulfill its Roadmap obligations before Israel makes yet further concessions.

President Obama last year called Israeli communities in eastern Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria “illegitimate,” and later accepted and promoted the Palestinian Authority demand for a total halt in building for Jews in the areas. Leading Republicans have strongly criticized the Obama administration, charging that he is ignoring reality and paving the way for a possible explosion in the Middle East, similar to the Second Intifada that followed the PA’s rejection of an opportunity to establish itself as a state.
I am ethnocentric as the most, but to me Arutz Sheva appears to have been infected by the "Jerusalem fever". But it also could be they are right and we, in fact, are the navel of the Universe.

Israel was not a major issue (in fact not an explicit issue at all) in the Mass. election but the election did reflect the public's dissatisfaction with Obama's general leftist tendencies (of which the Israel policy is a part). Obama ran as a moderate but has attempted to govern as a leftist and yesterday's election shows that even in the most "leftist" state such policies as a whole do not have majority support. It is worth noting that the Democrat still did win Boston and the depressed cities of Western Massachusetts by a large margin but the more prosperous white suburban voters swung very hard from pro-Obama last year to strongly against this year - it's hard to believe that Obama could have destroyed so much good will in one short year - from moshiach to freyer (who gets led by the nose by the even more leftist Reid and Pelosi) in no time. Or maybe this is what happens when you piss off HaShem.

I had thought that old Ted Kennedy had left in place a powerful political machine that would guarantee Democratic dominance forever. He had ample time to build its foundation. Yet the moment he is gone, the State changes hands. Sic gloria mundis.

The Democrats of Massachusetts could have been voting for that manatee out of ethnic solidarity.

J, look at this.

Ted Kennedy left behind nothing - he was a nothing, blessed only with a famous name. Massachusetts has plenty of well educated middle class professionals. These usually lean left when things are going well but things are not going well right now. The political machine is dead except in inner cities but these have been depopulated - the 60,000 vote margin produced by Boston was not nearly enough to outweigh the 200,000 vote margin for Brown in suburban areas where the machine does not even exist.

Interesting. If political machines are dead, as also the failure of Hillary Clinton seems to show, what remains? An amorphous mass of voters?

What remains? The media (mostly TV- newspapers are on their last legs) and increasingly , the internet. Politicians are sold thru advertising as if they were laundry detergent. To mount a campaign in a major state costs millions for TV time.

Political machines are dead among most Whites.

Maybe identity politics is next for Whites. One of the things that bugged me about the Massachusetts senate race is that the Whites of that state have spent so many years electing liberal candidates and many times mocking the conservative Whites of Southern states, but once Ted died they then elected a man who said "I drive a truck" as part of his campaign.

I was really hoping for an asteroid strike on Massachusetts before the election, but sadly that did not occur. Heck, I would have settled for boils, a plague of locusts, you get the idea. Instead these people will probably present themselves to the world as good solid conservative men who are innocent victims of liberalism, in short as people who had nothing to do with electing Ted.

This is the same state that elected a man who later came out as gay, Barney Frank. Many years ago BF was caught running a gay dating service out of his office in Massachusetts, and the people of that benighted state reelected him!

Let me clarify, I would have settled for them to have boils or locusts.

Fear makes most people tack quite sharply to the right.

Obama does not yet seem to understand this.

He will destroy the stock market just prior to the mid-term elections.

Fantastic; he is committing political suicide.

Anon., it is fantastic that we are arriving to similar conclusions. I too have a bad feeling. The stock market may be heading towards a disaster. The one committing suicide is not only Obama but George Soros and the other plutocrats who financed his ascense.

Soros probably is positioning himself to make a lot of money, unless he has lost his touch.

Of course, if you are controlling events, it's a bit easier to time them.

It is unconceivable that someone would work towards a real and enduring stock exchange crash. Soros has more money than he can spend, but I am less optimistic than used to be.

I'm not so sure. Not a sustained one, I agree. But not too difficult to spook people at this time, for a 5-10% "correction" lasting about 6 months; then, onwards and upwards as Obama suddenly "decides" to do something to make Wall Street happy again.

Sell high, buy low, you know the formula. It's just all a tad easier when you are flicking the switch.

Soros is behind Obama, for sure. I think he calls it "reflexivity".
Whatever anybody calls it, it's quite a creative approach. What better way to know the future than to create it? Hats off!

I afraid you are right. This is the classic formula for enrichment. Say, buy real assets and pay with debt, devaluate, pay your debt. Argentina's Minister of Finance Krieger Vasena used it to pocket the country's heavy industry. The current Presidenta is doing the same.

Do you think President Soros will be elected for a second term?

According to the gnostic doctrine of reflexivity, the things a speculator does hit him back like a whiplash. I admire the dare of Soros, but after all this is a Hungarian Jew who impersonated a "native" Hungarian and took part in the stealing of Jewish property within the nazi Szalasy regime in Hungary. I heard similar stories of Hungarian Jews infiltrating Budapest SS headquarters, these people was born without fear.

Has he returned the property?

I know he is not your favorite, and not the favorite Jew of a lot of Jewish people, but do you really think he is "one of these self-hating Jews", and actually anti-Semitic, or perhaps just anti-Zionist?

Do you think he actually is anti-Zionist?

Anon.

The Hungarian State did pay compensation in the nineteen eighties for Jewish property. I dont think Soros arrived to England with much money, he made his fortune in America. He is decidedly anti-Israeli and anti-Zionist. He gives money to political causes, never to Jewish causes.
