Half of South Africa's Whites Gone
There are no reliable statistics, but my estimate is that half of South Africa's White population has left. Rural areas are emptying. Zimbabwe's White population, which reached its zenith during the war, is almost all gone except for two or three urban concentrations.

For Zimbabwe, gone; gone, but not forgotten.
For SA, I think it is 20%; however, it is a critical 20%, often talented, young, and wanting to raise young families. So in the long run, the impact will be severe.
And it is not only many English and Jews who have left; also the Afrikaners.
Had their physical security been guaranteed, as it could have been, these people would not have left; not the Jews, the English or anyone. The country is too rich, too beautiful, and too interesting.
It is all very unfortunate, and in my mind, as an involuntary demic replacement, represents a sort of crime against humanity.

I do not personally know any SA whites, but I was acquainted with a lot of SA Indians in the 80s. To a man (or woman) none of them wanted to live under the blacks, but some of them made a big show of their anti-apartheid feelings. This disposition had the advantage that it made it easier for them to claim residence in the West after their studies. The trajectory of SA politics is entirely predictable, first we had the sainted Mandela, then the tolerable Mbeki and now an outright thug in Zuma. Its fair to say that the blacks are looking for a Chavez messiah with a handouts for the asking. Would the left ever take responsibility for the disasters they are eager to foist on everyone? With ancestry going back 350 years The SA whites have every right to maintain their own way of life. While many of the blacks came only after the mines and farms were opened up. Greed did the whites in and now they cannot maintain their numbers. I won't be surprised if the metaphorical knives come out after the World Cup.
They will not be metaphorical.

I bet the World Cup will witness massacres before, during and after the matches. I wonder if the South African state is prepared to host such an event.
J, I have read about it. It shows that tribalism affects the blacks to as great an extend as any other group of human beings.
When the geneticist Steve Jones gave a lecture in Botswana (I think) on the unity of mankind that dicoveries in genetics showed, a student got up and said that while he agreed that Jones and himself belonged to the same race he didn't think that the same applied to members of other tribes in Botswana. Racism has to be endemic in Africa for, after all who was it that supplied the Portuguese and Spanish caravelles with slaves from the interior if not other blacks? The whites would have succumbed to malaria and all kinds of river diseases within thirty miles of the coastline.
S Africa's last hope is that all of their people turn to Christianity. This will happen if the clerics such as the Rev Tutu spend more time preaching the Gospels instead of penning fierce letters denouncing the Israeli fence.
In post-colonial and Southern Africa, there are essentially 6 types of problem that didn't exist before: giga-scale AIDS/HIV; random, pointless and horrific violence (eg, brutal killing of a family for a cellphone and petty cash); systemic corruption of industrial magnitude; potential endangerment from inappropriate promotion of incompetent people on the base of race preferences, which together with other manifestations of empowerment, constitute a huge new tax; confiscation of productive farmland which is immoral, illegal and threatens food security; and lack of legal or even physical protection for minorities.
On the positive side, conscription into the military has stopped, the civil war has finished, there are no longer sanctions or academic boycotts, and Africa earns lots more tourist $. And there is no question that genuinely talented blacks and other people of color can rise in a normal and healthy way.
Most of the bad stuff can usually be avoided or managed on a day-by-day basis, but over the decades it eats away at the productive sectors of the economy. And the good stuff, I fear, is not enough to compensate. So in the end, even the blacks will suffer; this is already evident in the many places, like the Congo or Zimbabwe, in which "the end" has already arrived.
Objectively, South Africa is in balance.

The lack of legal or even physical protection for minorities is enough to undermine South Africa, because it is the minorities that form tha nucleus of the State and maintain its structure. Eventually the temptation of exploiting the "rich" (productive) minority will overcome all obstacles and damage the fabric of South AFrica's prosperity.
The farm murders ("boer genocide")are an exampl of this. Horrifying, when you read the details and Google the pictures.

Blame the Jews for this mostly.
Just like they did in the USA, people of ethnic Jewish descent spearheaded the movement to end segregation, apartheid, and so on - the people pushing most for 'Black Civil Rights' were JEWS in South Africa and JEWS in the USA.
Also, Jews have been exploiting Black labor (even SLAVE labor) to extract maybe trillions of dollars worth of South African diamonds over the last two centuries.
Jews were also very involved in bringing African slaves to The Americas.
It must also be noted, in the Great Book of Reckoning, that Israel was one of the few countries to assist South Africa in its security issues, and to help.
As was Taiwan.
