From Globes: Mekorot National Water Company, a government company, is threatening to break the rules in their struggle against the Ministry of Finance's intention to cancel an agreement for the company to build and operate the Ashdod desalination plan unless the company accepts the price of water set for it. Mekorot's workers union announced its intention to disconnect the Ashkelon and Hadera desalination plants from the national water system.

Why doesn't Israel build MANY desalination plants while it is still getting a ton of American money every year? Why not 2+ dozen of them all along Israel's coastline and even some inland too?
Please update your information sources, because Israel is now considered a developed economy and the Americans are not sending us more donations. We do receive military assisstance, that can be spent only in America to buy American products. Everything is welcome with thanks. Anyway, Sir, the operation of a desalting plant is very expensive, we couldnt maintain them even if they were given us for free.
