USA is selling advanced defense weapons to Taiwan and China is becoming nervous. Lately they have been feeling very strong and a world power. Now they have to think again - America is not only not afraid of a confrontation but actually provoking it. A military confrontation aka war.
The war in Iraq is being scaled down and a stable government seems to be in place. In Afganistan, the British strategy of buying local support is being tried. Yet Obama's Defense budget submitted to the Congress is the largest ever.
What is going on?

Taiwan is a long standing ally and is paying cash for defensive weapons. China does not (yet) have a veto over US foreign policy. Is it also provoking war when the US sends weapons to Israel? The US is perhaps saving China from itself. There must be elements of the Chinese military who are tempted to overreach and take Taiwan by military force, but as Argentine generals found out, such overreaching can backfire.
As for Obama's budget, he is no budget cutter, but in any event the global war with Islam is far from over - it has barely begun. I'm afraid to say we're in for a long war. Personally I think what is needed is a total and painful defeat for Islam, one that will take away their appetite for war completely, just as Hiroshima and the bombing of Germany into rubble made the fanatical Germans and Japanese into lovers of peace.

What Germans and Japanese,they are dying out(ethnic),in 2060 years true Germans and Japanese will be pensioners or younger generation half something else! It would be silly to expect the same outcome:P
War is last what need ethnic Europeans and east Asians now.
Obama is no budget cutter but it is a bit unexpected from him to maintain and increase military spending. He is following and deepening Bush's strategy. It is good that America defies China, by provoking an arms race Reagan caused the sudden collapse of the Soviet Union. Maybe China will receive the same treatment? The Chinese are patient, they will choose not to challenge America.
About five years ago my mother was watching Pat Robertson on TV and he suggested cutting Iraq up into several countries. Actually, I think Pat suggested giving parts to neighboring countries that share the same faith and ethnicity as those parts.
I don't remember clearly since I was in the other room.
Iraq was several different provinces of the Ottoman Empire that were randomly stuck together as a single country by the British. They and the French did this all over Africa and Asia also. You ended up with different religious, tribal and ethnic groups who were historic enemies stuck together in one country. As long as the colonial powers were there they could play the groups off against each other and maintain peace but as soon as the white guys took off they were at each other's throats, and still are in many (most) cases.

It is quite foolish and simplistic thinking to assume that current population trends will continue into the long-range future. I believe that Razib at GNXP has illustrated this sometime in the last year, but I don't have time to search for the link.
Even Russia is increasing the number of babies. Germany is making a serious effort to be "child-friendly" and they will succeed, may be even over do it.
Will their "success" involve mostly Turkish babies named Mohammed?
Mohammed is now the most popular baby name in many European cities - London, Brussels, Amsterdam, etc. In 20 years, Israel can look forward to an EU that is even less friendly than it is now, and it's not too friendly toward Israel now either.
Germany may recover its birthrate but they won't be German.

I am of the opinion that they will not allow that to happen. Long before that there will be some object of foreign agression and they will come to their senses. Long peace is enervating.

Demography is destiny - if a majority of the babies born this year are Moslem, then a majority of the 18 year olds 18 years from now will be Moslem. These kids are native born Europeans - there's no place to send them "back" to. Although the Jews were not considered "native" Europeans even after 2000 years, the only "solution" the Germans could think of was the "final" one.

I think that the extent of Muslim invasion of Europe is exaggerated. I have seen statistics that non-European births are less than 5% and will never reach more than 10% of the population. It looks that reliable statistics are not available.
