One Down; More in the Queue Ready to Go

Today we completed my daughter's marriage ceremonies, which started with the mikweh, the hennah ceremony, the marriage, the shabat chatan in the synagogue and the seudah (family lunch). Here are two pic from the hennah, with the exotic Yemeni belly dancer, and the lucky henna in the hands. Now we are exhausted. One gone, others in the queue ready to go.

Are you the guy with the fez? Or is that the groom?

J said...

No. no! The guy with the fez is the one to be married. The Yemenite belly dancer took 200 dollars for a two hours show.

Congratulations, J. But in the first photo it looks like the girls took shits in their hands.

I was also very distrustful of the brown stuff but it is just a plant paste with that leaves yellow stains on the skin.

Mazel tov once again.

When I pictured henna I thought of the very pretty artistic patterns that are sometimes drawn:

The stuff in the girl's palms just looked gross, I'm sorry to say, not like I imagined at all, but whatever makes your daughter and her friends happy (and they look very happy in the picture).

I agree that the henna looks like shit.

It does look like shit and the first thing I did was to smell it. It had a vague rose colony odor, and the woman in charge told me that she had added perfume to the henna paste. My hands are still yellow.

K,

I visited the links and I have never seen such artistic henna tattoos in Israel (or anywhere).

Is that you slumped in the corner, with glasses (reading glasses, that is)?

Ja.

I see the belly dancer has worn you out.

Congratulations J, I wish you many grandchildren.

Thanks.

Obviously that was just the beginning of the henna activity. I am sure they did some designs on top their hands after that.

J, you look very content -- as you should. Mazel tov and hatzlacha!

I agree Ivan. And I hope J doesn't look like that author Netenyahu that he blogged about when he gets grandchildren.

Despite the chaos of the world a happy family is still a blessing.

Ronduck as you say a large family is a blessing. I know it to my regret now as I have only one son, and every other week he'll complain that he has no one to play with. Kids in the playground that come from large families simply cordon him off.

Good for you, J.

But remember, a father's work is neer done.

If you meanr that a father has to keep financing them forever, you are right.

Ivan

You can get a surrogacy service in India to produce another son for you, which is your own biologically.

You too.
