This is not even Marxism or Communism. Under Communism there were countrtwide selections of talented students and privileged schools to advance their usefulness to society. I know. I was there. But Berkeley (Berkeley!) is against intelligence. It is not a place for Jews.
Science labs mostly benefit higher-achieving white and Asian-American students, the council believes. The school’s enrollment is 33 percent white and 7 percent Asian; blacks make up 28 percent and Hispanics 13 percent.

Equality at All Costs
What happens in California today will happen in all America ten years after and then all over the world. We in Israel are early adopters and copiers of California. What is happening in CAlifornia is discouraging.

Berkeley! has been a leftist madhouse for years, so this is no surprise to me. Our education system has been undermined already - the facade seems to be holding but the pillars are shaking and could fall if pushed. Modern leftism is worse than Communism in this respect. The (Russian) Communists, once they came to power and actually had to run a country, quickly realized (if they had not previously) that it was impossible to operate a society on the basis of true equality - every orchestra needs a conductor, every ship needs a captain, etc. The leftists in the US, because they have not yet seized absolute power, are still in the ideological phase where idiotic concepts that have no chance of success in real life are still pushed because they fit the ideology.
Within their framework, what they are doing makes sense - if there are "limited resources" shouldn't these be spent on those in greatest need, ask the idiots? Never mind that these "limited resources" will become more and more limited as the skills and productivity of society decline.
As usual, there is a racial dimension to this. Leftist doctrine does not permit the recognition of inherent differences between the races - if there is a shortfall in one race, it is only because not enough is being done. If all efforts in that direction have failed, it is only because not enough has been done yet. All we need do is redouble our efforts and equality will be achieved.

K, what you said about the communists of Russia reminds me of what my mother said about Iran after the 1979 revolution. The new regime closed the colleges for a short while but then reopened them because trained specialists were needed to keep the country running.
The only fortunate thing about the new leftism is that it is so out of touch with reality, it must be self-limiting.
