Youth League president, Julius Malema, has just been given a rousing heroes welcome by Robert Mugabe’s Zanu-PF. The “Kill the Boer” song was sung in his honour. Malema said:
“In SA we are just starting. Here in Zimbabwe you are already very far. The land question has been addressed. We are very happy that today you can account for more than 300000 new farmers against the 4000 who used to dominate agriculture. We hear you are now going straight to the mines. That’s what we are going to be doing in South Africa."Malema is saying that if South Africa's mining companies are expropiated, Black people may turn White. And no one is laughing.
“We want the mines. They have been exploiting our minerals for a long time. Now it’s our turn to also enjoy from these minerals. They are so bright, they are colourful, we refer to them as white people, maybe their colour came as a result of exploiting our minerals and perhaps if some of us can get opportunities in these minerals we can develop some nice colour like them.”

Yes, Malema envies the "success" they have achieved in Zimbabwe and wants to emulate them. Idiot. So sad.
Albino blacks in Africa live in great danger. They are often murdered so that their killer can chop off some part of their body and possess their magic. The parts are in high demand by witch doctors. As I type this I wish that this was a joke or I was making this up or describing the situation in ancient times, but no - this is real and happening now.

There are those who believe he (Malema), whose mind speaks for itself, is just a tool being manipulated.
For those pulling the strings, the lives of white farming families (including women and children) are presumably dispensable.
The script apparently runs to the effect he will (and clearly is) overplaying his hand and will be dealt with by some disgruntled Boer, and which will provoke a race war, allowing the "government" to get rid of the whites.
This will then pave the way for a take over of the treasure trove of minerals by _ _ _ _ _ (you fill in the blanks).
Any takers for this scenario?
I have my doubts, but there is no denying the potential wealth, and it wouldn't be the first time a conspiracy has been fomented to deprive the Boers of their country and its riches (see the run-up to the Boer War 110 yrs ago).
Anon.
What is he saying? If some Black Africans get an opportunity in mining they will turn White?
J, this might be ignorance or bigotry on my part, but I think that Malemba believes that killing Boers and other whites will give the white juju to Malemba and his followers. They won't have white skin but they will turn themselves into more spiritually powerful beings by gaining magic from the whites.
Many black Christians and Muslims all over the world strongly and literally believe in magic and sorcery. An Egyptian working as a pharmacist in Saudi Arabia was executed in 2007 CE after having been found guilty of using sorcery to try to separate a married couple. Google: Saudis 'give Lebanese sorcerer stay of execution'
Malema is not saying that blacks will literally turn white but will have the ability to live a more "colorful" white lifestyle once they have taken all the white's mines and other property. At least when the Germans stole all the Jewish wealth they had the administrative ability to make good use of it. I have no confidence that a clown like Malema could run a modern mine for more than a few weeks before operations broke down.
Malema and Terreblanche remind me of the interaction between the most radical Israeli settlers on one side (the ones that want all of Judea and Samaria to be Jewish and for the Arabs to just disappear) and the Hamas cast the Jews into the sea types on the other. One can only hope that cooler and wiser heads will prevail on both sides.
Note the flag in this picture of Terreblanche:

If I was asked to design something that was essentially a Nazi Swastika but with a thin layer of deniability, this would be it.

I am inclined to think that doggytwit has it right - Malemba is suggesting that South AFrican Whites extract their Whiteness (what ever that is in his mind: physical beauty, colored eyes and hair, wealth, power, intelligence, etc.) from the mines deep in the earth. He dreams of taking posession of the source of Whiteness and by magic, possess all that Whites have. It is magical thinking.
No logic will convince him. I dont think a difficult racial confrontation can be avoided in the long term.
I don't think Malema is as stupid/crazy as he seems - more like crazy like a fox. #1 he knows that talk like this is red meat to his idiotic followers. #2 if you look at the Zimbabwe experience even though it has been disaster for the country and 99% of the black population, Mugabe and his top cadres have done very well financially.

I'm with K. Malema is not, I think, a crude magical thinker (although who knows, really) but I rather think he is trying to foment a Zim style wealth transfer to cronies and provoke a mass white exodus, which is only going to happen by overwhelming force, and which, incidentally, will almost certainly spark a real bloodbath.
Probably, it will not succeed without outside help; most whites won't just roll over.
The question is, who are his friends and supporters? Is the SA Govt just waiting for him to REALLY overdo it and then arrest him? Or are they floating a balloon?
I am concerned this can only be happening because an outside power has secretly colluded with them to provide support(ie to provide the real means to crush any rebellion, and whom they, as the legitimate govt, will call in via the UN, etc).
Some would point East, but the reality maybe more disturbing; our own "kith and kin".
I am also moving to the opinion that Terre Blanche's murder might not just be a random criminal event. Why him, and why now?
I hope I'm wrong, and this is all overblown, but I fear Malema is going for broke. It is increasingly a one way journey for him and it will end badly for somebody. Maybe everybody. I think he is out of his depth.
Where are the adults in this world?

Anon,
You are certainly dealing with a rotten bunch and it's easy to become paranoid under the circumstances , but please don't overdo the conspiracy theories without proof. Apply Occam's Razor and KISS.

I know, I know, but: Check out Zim today.
A lot of people said the same thing at the time (as I remember well) in Zim; don't worry, Uncle Bob's OK, and for a long time, he was OK. But then, it all went bad, and is still getting worse.
Probably, in SA, this will blow over in the short term. Nobody's panicking. But after the world cup..? There certainly seems too much at stake in SA to let it all go to hell; but, then, much the same could have been said about Zim.
Whatever the reality, allowing
Malema to jaunt around mouthing off and making very real threats to very threatened people, is a very bad policy; almost insane, really; and will end in tears, and quite unnecessarily.

If there is justice in the world then guys like Malema come to a bad end like Hitler (or Terreblanche). But then Mugabe is 86 and still clinging to power and the Kims and the Ayatollahs die of old age in their beds. So there is not always justice in the world.

If you look around the world today, you see a lot of really poor quality tin pot tyrants given free reign, apparently; you could almost get a choir together. This is true even with Saddam gone, and Fidel lying low.
It was also to some extent true under Bush/Cheney, but is worse now. It would not have been the case under Nixon, or Reagan/Thatcher. Bad people popped up every now and again, but at least they were intelligent.
I think this is a manifestation of our weakness and abdication, although you could argue it is because the USA is perceived to be fully occupied in Iraq and Afghanistan.
But Europe has certainly copped out almost completely from trying to influence the world. I think the EU is seen as effeminate, NATO a thing of the past and Obama almost part of the choir. Anything goes, and it will. And China is not hastening to become the world's policeman, which might be a good thing.
It's not just that these people are bad men, its the that their quality is so deteriorated. Just listen to them speak.

They seem worse than before because of TV and the internet. Once leaders were remote and inaccessible, and people could cultivate illusions about them. Who knew how was the real Mao Tzetung? Who knew about Eva Braun? But nowadays every world they utter is recorded.
I prefer my bad guys stupid. They are easier to defeat that way. Saddam Hussein's army crumbled before American ingenuity though they fought the equally stupid Iranians to a stalemate for years.
K
Dumb enemies armed with nukes are doubly bad enemies. I prefer reasonable enemies.
If they were reasonable they wouldn't be your enemies in the first place. Look at the Palestinians - they had absolutely everything to gain from cooperation with Israel. Millions in remittances by Palestinian workers crossing the border each day. Tourism and factories, casinos, etc. - they could have joined the world economy instead of living as international charity cases. And yet they couldn't bring themselves to do it.
K
In this world there may or may not be justice, but sure as hell there are winners and losers.
And demographic decline is the one certain way to belong in the loser camp. Naivite is the other.

Don't Jews and/or Jewish companies still own most of the diamond mines in South Africa? I know that they used to, but I am wondering if they still do?
Anglo American used to be at least in part owned and managed by Harry Oppenheimer, who I think converted from Judaism.
But Anglo is mostly out of SA now, and Harry has passed on. His family has less influence now.
De Beers (diamonds) can historically be linked back to a very colourful character called Barney Barnato, but he lost out against Cecil Rhdes.
Part of the mines are by law black owned, but the rest are owned by local and international shareholders in companies like BHP Billiton, Xstrata, Gencor, RTZ and so on.
This is just a very short list.
If your point is , will there be an outcry if there is an attempt to "nationalize" them, the answer is yes. But that would be normal and legal.

No, Anonymous's point is that the Joos control everything.
I recently came across a Wikipedia talk page regarding the physicist Teller. If you look at the history of the page, he is variously described by some combination of the words Hungarian, Jewish and American. One of the commenters said that the ones who are obsessed about the "Jewish" description in Wikipedia biographies were anti-Semites and Jews. Anti-semites so they could "out" the subject as being Jewish and Jews so they could take credit. Most other people just don't care either way, especially if the subject's Jewish identity is not central to his accomplishments or history. The consensus was that in Teller's case, it was, because his move to American could not be understood except in the context of his Jewishness.
Up until yesterday (when I fixed it) Teller was described as "Jew-born" , a phrase unknown to English which I'm guessing is a direct translation from some other language (Hungarian?).
K
What would Teller say to us about Iran, if he were alive today?

It looks like "they" may be starting to reign Malema in a little.
Perhaps they have realized they have overplayed their hand. Malema might be too much even for the BBC to stomach.
And that's saying a lot.
Anon.
I am sorry to say that there is a dynamic in this process. I wouldnt invest in South African mines.
BTW, now I understood something about the rise of gold. It is not only fear of inflation.
Check out the youtube vid where Malema throws out the BBC journalist.
Worth a peek.
And then do not be surprised at what is to follow.
Anon.
Shocking.
I perhaps shall keep silent
