Sociopath is too nice a word to describe Obama. The difference is the magnitude and depth of the deception. In July 2008, the press was full of reports of Obama's anti-Israel connections, including the fact that his foreign policy advisor was the odious Samantha Power. Obama gave assurances to the Jewish community he was reliable as, say, Bill Clinton. Obama has extraordinary gifts of persuasion, and has been profligate about employing them. He persuaded some very wealthy and sophisticated people that he was on their side, and then turned on them.Not nice to see one's premonitions to turn true.

Political capital is like any other capital - you only get to spend it once and then you have none left. Obama has been spending his political capital as fast as he as been spending our money (as you would expect from someone who has no real concept of what the source of wealth in a modern economy is. Hint- it doesn't come from village blacksmiths). After the November elections his political capital will be thoroughly defeated. In politics, the only thing worse than betraying your supporters is losing an election. All sins can be forgiven except losing and having all the goodies that accrue to the majority in Congress taken away. As President he can still cause a lot of damage but there comes a point where you are considered a "lame duck" and nobody listens to what you say anymore. Obama has made this transition in record time - what took Bush 6 or 7 years, Obama has accomplished in only 1 or 2.
