Since I have started to manage seriously my portfolio, about fifteen years ago, I am searching for a way to learn more about the secretive Israeli tobacco market. It must be very profitable. I tried to see how is Dubek owned, but they dont talk to anybody. Today The Marker (in Hebrew) writes about Eliezer Fishman (a speculator) thinking of buying into cigarette importers, and some data about how this business is structured in Israel. IOf Fishman buys into it, then I can invest through his Jerusalem Corp. To be followed up.

IIRC correctly, Dubeks were among the worst cigarettes I ever smoked, although now that I think about it, there were a few brands in communist Yugoslavia that almost made me wretch. On the kibbutz they supplied volunteers with a pack a day (I think) of Noblesse, which weren't too bad. Do you suppose kibbutzim still compensate volunteers with cigarettes?
You confirm my guess that Dubek is a very profitable enterprise. They are most secretive, no information filters out. Regarding cigarettes as currency, I have heard that today's volunteers (and definitely not only them) smoke nargila (water pipe) burning widely available and unexpensive scented grass mixed with Turkish tobacco and mandarine or something else.
In my day, it was tobacco only. We were straight arrows and socialist pioneers.
