President or Corpse

Today's paper in Quito: "If you want to kill me, Go on, kill me!" President Correa was attacked by angry policemen during a ceremony. They were protesting "a la Ecuatoriana" their pensions. "Saldre de aqui Presidente o Cadaver!" I'll leave as President or a corpse." What a country. Argentina's Hector Timmerman (Foreign Minister), Venezuela's Hugo Chavez and Bolivia's Evo Morales accused Obama and the oil monopolies oof being behind the coup. What a continent.

The Yanqui devils are always at fault even if the devil in chief is a card carrying third world socialist. Ultimately this tactic backfires - on the rare occasions when the US really does intervene in S. America (most Americans couldn't find Ecuador on a map to save their lives and could care less what happens there) no one will believe the denunciations from the usual suspects.

Perhaps I was biased after learning of the Honduras coup from the Wall Street Journal, but to this day I still have no idea how the Obama administration could have supported the ousted president.
