I have always said that the Chinese are the true inheritors and soon to be protectors of Western culture (just as the Arabs acted as the guardians of the Greek and Roman philosophical and scientific texts when they were considered pagan and worthless in the West). When I go to classical music concerts in the US the average age of the audience is somewhere between 70 and dead and there are no non-Asian minorities, who will soon be more than 1/2 the population. Art in America means smearing feces on the wall or some such stunt that requires only the ability to shock and outrage and zero actual talent. The Chinese are the only ones that take classical art, classical music, etc. seriously anymore.
No doubt, our culture has become dumbed down and the most obvious manifestation of that is the widespread diminution in the attention span of young people.
However, this is all to the advantage of social manipulators.
