Israel-bashing as Lamb Marketing Tool

The Post comments:
(The Government of New Zealand's) overly strong reaction to Israel over this issue suggests the GNZ sees this flap as an opportunity to bolster its credibility with the Arab community, and by doing so, perhaps, help lamb and other products gain greater access to a larger and more lucrative market.
New Zealanders are so far from the Middle East that they imagine Arabs will pay more for their lambs if they castigate Israel.

The word "Israel" is now politically incorrect, from now on we are "ISR".

Packages of NZ lamb that are sold here in general supermarkets (slaughtered and vacuum packed in NZ) are marked "halal" - they must have major markets in the Arab world. Arabs love lamb. In America it is a relatively minor item.

NZ made a very big deal out of being anti-apartheid, refusing to play rugby, etc.

So you are in good company.

NZ is not free of ethnic problems with Micronesians and Maoris. Who he is free of sin should throw the first stone...?

Although Freud is much discredited nowadays, the concept of projection, in which well-earned guilt is expiated by attributing the very faults onto other people, is a truth that will stand the test of time.
