Large passenger jets are one of the few remaining world class exports from the US but Boeing has outsourced the production of major components abroad, including (predictably) to China, for its latest generation 787. So far this is not going well - when the various pieces arrive at Boeing they don't fit together. The Chinese view making components as a step toward making complete aircraft. Lenin was right about capitalists and rope.
