This morning I drove my little daughter to the Gadnah training camp in Sde Boker. Gadnah is a paramilitary organization that prepares the young for the obligatory military service. She took all her possessions including her bed to the camp. Well, I may be exaggerating. All her age group from Kever Benjamin high schools was there. The logo is from another group.

My wife (who is not Israeli) attended Gadna many years ago as part of some American Zionist program for Jewish youth. She learned to field strip and reassemble a rifle, a skill that she has not put to use.
