Why is this so? Western media sees Whites as a mass of violent drunken peasants, embittered and full of repressed hate, always in search of a reason to form lynching mobs and kill and burn. These pitchfork-armed xenophobic drunkards have to be managed and appeased all the time, never giving them a cause to go out and machine-gun Blacks, Jews, Japanese, Arabs, the rich, the capitalists, those with university degrees, those speaking with a foreign accent or whatever. The media is aware of its power to provoke riots and pogroms, so it shows a world of love and harmony.
Media-workers deform reality because they conceive their mission as an idealistic calling. They know the instincts of their public and they know that reporting a heartbroken au-pair suicide will cause tomorrow the copycat suicide of dozens of girls abandoned by their boyfriends. They know that showing a salesman jumping from the bridge to his death will attract hundreds of others to jump from the same bridge. Living in a neighborhood of demented pyromaniacs, the media avoids reporting fires, or even showing matches that could give ideas to the violent morons watching them.
Interviewing post-mass rape Lara could easily incite the spontaneous formation of wild mobs going out in search of lynchable Arabs or - let our imagination fly - to cause wild pogroms against the rich, the intelligent or simply old Jews with thick glasses like me. BTW, it is not only the Western media. The Chinese media deforms even more grossly the world it reports, showing a universe of heavenly irreality. The illustration is from Singapur.

I do not think the reason the media distorts reality is to primarily protect us from ourselves, although there may be an element of that; I think it is because they are in the grip of a neocommunist, one-world ideology in which white (and Jewish) nationalism are the main enemies to their ambitions.
They are steadily working us towards a non-racial world, in which a chosen elite shield behind a veil of Orwellian propaganda, and manipulate the rest of us out of our archaic sentiments such as religion, and loyalty to one's people or race. The tools are many, but include mendacious fear-mongering re global warming, etc as well as appropriate fear-mongering, eg nuclear terrorism.
In this vast project, which is now well on the way to realization, Islam is the cure for European nationalism, and European nihilism is the cure for Islamic fundamentalism; and Latino culture and genes the cure for white American exceptionalism, and the latter the cure for the former; and this is why all these different streams are being forced together via the wholly unwished for and profoundly antidemocratic phenomenon of mass immigration.
Ditto for Africa; wherever white nationalism has triumphed, it must be smashed and replaced with cultural homogeneity and eventually, racial hybridization, AT WHATEVER COST.
Once the ancient feuds of the Occidental and Third Worlds have been dealt with by miscegenation, atheism, and the new religion of vacuous consumerism, the next project will be to co-opt the Asian elites to work against their own peoples.
Welcome to the one-world project; needless to say, it will, like other utopian ideologies, eventually fail; in the mean time however, Europe will enter a period of chaos and civil war, from which it might never recover, and Israel will have been sacrificed.
This is the media today. You can see it most transparently in the "British" media, and political establishment, who are bought and paid for. These people live in a relatively high IQ "international" environment, to whom they report, and believing in the blank slate hypothesis, earnestly think that third world masses can be fully integrated into modern civilization by forced integration. They are all fools, in their own special ways.

I'm with Anon. here - the agenda of the media is not so benign. They have no problem showing violence if it fits their ideological template. The important thing is that the news must fit the pre-ordained leftist narrative. So, for example, in the US, when the conservative "Tea Party" activists had a rally, they were portrayed as racist, homophobic, etc. even though they weren't. But when the left wing union thugs have a rally in Wisconsin, even though they shout racist epithets, etc. the media ignores this. It's all about fitting the narrative to promote the agenda. They could care less if this causes copycat crimes - they report such things all the time. When it suits the agenda, they have a "duty" to report everything, even things that damage national security. When it doesn't - silence. The double standards and hypocrisy are blatant and yet they deny that they even exist. It is hard to say whether they are just fooling themselves or whether they intend to fool us.
