A long time ago Argentina had an official rate of exchange while Uruguay was free. I used to take the night transborder to Colonia and then the early morning bus to Montevideo. In the afternoon I returned to Buenos Aires with my catch of dollars. Spent days wandering around Montevideo and speaking to the people in the streets, loving the
genius loci.
