Americans have gone crazy. You have this luxury hotel employing an illegal immigrant African prostitute. Dont do they check the background of their employees? Would it be in bad taste or violating their human rights?
Then the African chambermaid accuses DSK, a sixty two years old fat Jew, of coming out from the bathroom naked with an erection, and subjecting that muscular young woman to violent rape. Wait a minute! Not rape in the sense of jumping on her and forcing her to open her legs, but to open her mouth and perform fellatio on his member.
The hotel detective and New York police force accept without a second thought her version. In America it is unthinkable that an African prostitute would lie, that would be racism; it is the international banker - whose livelihood depends on his honesty and reliability - whose word cannot be trusted. He is arrested and taken down from the plane in handcuffs.
The banker is disgraced and humiliated. He loses his job and his prospects. The press defames and slaughters him, paints him as a pervert and sugggests that his criminal sexuality was public knowledge but no one dared to reveal it. Because everybody was frightened by the long arm of the International Jewish Conspiracy.
DSK should be allowed to go home immediately. He is not the criminal, he is the victim of crime. Half Sigma: "Obama should personally apologize for the crappy treatment our country has given him, pay him reparations for the damage caused him, and launch a federal investigation to see if DSK’s rights were violated. At the very least, he should demand that those involved in this mockery of justice should be fired from their jobs."

The African chambermaid is not an illegal alien, although she did falsify her asylum application. We don't know for sure yet that she's a prostitute. That charge comes from today's New York Post newspaper, which does not give a source other than it comes from someone "close to the defense." I do think this this will get confirmed in the near future. I suspected the maid was a prostitute from the very beginning of the case. I further surmised that DSK and the maid got into a fight over her fee for "enhanced room service." Perhaps she was not expecting him to ejaculate into her mouth, and when he did, she demanded extra payment.
I don't think the New York police believed her unless they have become even more stupid since I lived there. More likely the investigating detectives were overridden by their bosses who received pressure from the prosecutor, Cyrus Vance Jr. Vance is the problem here. He has lost a series of high profile cases, including a rape, and now he's going down again. He's an idiot. A liberal WASP with no "street smarts" who lives in a world of abstractions. He sees the maid as representative of white male oppression and colonialism. I really doubt DSK's treatment has anything to do with his being Jewish. We don't need anything more complicated here than just another dumb goy.
The charges need to get dismissed immediately. Vance's witness, his only witness, has been thoroughly discredited. I'm sure the private detectives who work for the defense have a mountain of negative material on her that's not been released. Should Vance be foolish enough to go to trial, the defense lawyers will utterly destroy her. Vance must think DSK will plea bargain, and that's why he's holding out. DSK won't because he has no reason to. The case has collapsed into a pile of dust, and everyone with an ounce of sense knows it.
We also get some comic relief from the maid's black lawyer who thinks he's at a civil rights protest rally. Somehow this poor African victim has the cash for a lawyer.
So yes Americans have gone crazy.

The politicization and leftist orientation of the New York County DA were locked down by R. M. Morgenthau, who held the position from 1975-2009. Morgenthau is Democratic party royalty, the son of Henry Morgenthau Jr. and the grandson of Henry Morgenthau Sr.
Vance is the particular idiot responsible for this absurdity, but it seems to me to be a bit incomplete to name only the goy, unless of course you're contending that Morgenthau's administration would have had different politics and priorities. And its treatment of, e.g., Goetz suggests to me that it emphatically wouldn't have.

Morgenthau was evil, but not generally foolish. I doubt he would have handled the DSK case as incompetently. For one thing, white male on black female rape is extremely rare. So rare you get zero cases (in sample) in the Crime Victimization Surveys the U.S. federal government conducts. But note before 2005 Hispanics were classified as white. Thus the police and the DA should have proceeded with extreme caution. They didn't and now they have gotten burned.
As for the outrageous Goetz case, the circumstances were different. Goetz did violate New York's Sullivan Law against carrying a concealed firearm. So the DA had something on him. Plus the DA had witnesses and Goetz's foolish statements. But you're quite right. Morgenthau tried to indict Goetz for attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment as well as weapons possession. Both the liberal Jews and liberal non-Jews feel they must placate New York's black community to remain in power. And they do. About the same time black man Austin Weeks shot and killed two white men who were bothering him on a train. No charges were brought against him. Initially the New York Grand Jury refused to indict Goetz except on the gun possession charge. Then the whole liberal establishment jumped on Goetz Jew, and non-Jew alike, and a new grand jury indicted Goetz for attempted murder. But they didn't reckon on lawyer Barry Slotnick's prowess in court. So yes Morgenthau is evil, but far more cunning than Cyrus Vance Jr, an utter lightweight.
The whole case is full of racism, in the sense that the fear of racism inhibited the employment of common sense. Sofitel was irresponsable in employing an African immigrant woman of the criminal class and with criminal connections. A simple background check would have discovered her bad character. And the house detectives that called the police as a unconditional reflex, that should have protected their valuable client instead of taking atutomatically the side of their own employee. The least Sofitel should be punished and it will when DSK is elected France's next President.
Regarding New York Police, I have mixed feelings. There is no extradition treaty with France and the case of Roman Polanski escaping justice may have been in their minds. Then, the investigation of the African criminal's background and phone calls was done rapidly and caused the collapse of the case.
The main lesson is the fragility of human happiness.

I agree; Morgenthau was too realistic to handle a leading politician of a major power in this way. But, as the Goetz case demonstrates, moral considerations would not have been why.

DSK may or may not be innocent as charged, but he is not an innocent man. He recklessly deceived and endangered his wife, he jeopardized his career and he opened himself up for blackmail.
He is not morally fit to look after other people's money, and he is definitely not fit to hold public office, or any position of trust, in France or anywhere else.
He has done this all to himself; the world is full of incompetent bureaucrats, zealous prosecutors and whatever; but he did this to himself.
