Béla Kádár

Last time in Budapest I saw paintings by Béla Kádár for 200 dollars. I looked at them, went out of the gallery and walked a block and came back but in the end bought none. Today his paintings even aquarells are selling for 2000 to 3000 dollars each. Béla Kádár (1877-1956) was a Hungarian Jewish painter influenced by Der Blaue Reiter, Cubism, Futurism, Neo-Primitivism, Constructivism, and Metaphysical painting.

I see a Chagall influence, for sure.

They both lived in Paris, Kádár did not know the schtetl. He knew Hungarian villages.
