The EU is a German project, after all

The German project is to form a political union or federation from the two dozen small nationalities of Europe. They are trying to do it without violence and in a very gradual way. Now this long-term project is in danger:
The sovereign debt crisis that has spread to eurozone’s periphery represents Europe’s “toughest hour since World War II,” according to Angela Merkel. Addressing thousands of delegates from the Christian Democrat Union (CDU), Merkel said that Germany will have to make more sacrifices.

“The challenge of our generation is to finish what we started in Europe, and that is to bring about, step by step, a political union,” Reuters quoted Merkel as saying. “Europe is in one of its toughest, perhaps the toughest hour since World War II.”
Juan Domingo Peron used to say: "El año dos mil nos encontrará unidos o dominados" meaning that the year 2000 will find an united Latin America or a colonized one. Yet all projects to unite or federate Latin American countries failed.

Her project is essentially dead.

The EU started out as an economic project but has steadily metamorphosed into an uneconomic project.

This is what will kill it.

Usually, it is the literal bankruptcy rather than the intellectual bankruptcy that brings insanity to an end.

In this case the sooner the better.
The EU is just a vehicle for globo-communists to destroy white civilization, and the white peoples themselves.

In a 2006 speech in Belgium, Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky describes the origins of the EU-- a plug in for the old Soviet Empire. Using previously classified documents he copied in 1992, Bukovsky uncovered the original plan for creating the EU. See http://www.brusselsjournal.com/node/865

for an interview and links to sound recordings.

Very Interesting what Bukovsky was saying.

That the EU is product of a "conspiracy" by leaders like Kissinger et al does not mean that is evil.

It secured 60 years of peace and prosperity in Europe, which is more than almost ever.

If not for the EU, Hungary would have invaded Romania, Slovakia and Croatia already.

It can also be plausibly argued as the Protestants do that the EU is a Catholic, Holy Roman Empire project. The old Iron and Steel Community was founded by devout Catholic politicians. The irony is that the late JP11 was later rebuffed when he asked that some reference be made to the Christian roots of Europe. My two-cent theory is that the French have hypnotised the Germans into believing that if not for the EU they would all be marching again. Of all the European belligerents at the end of WW11, it is the French who ended up with the most gains.

The alleged secret plan was formulated in 1985, when the Soviet Union was already in its last gasps and the EU project was already well underway, so I doubt it changed the outcome. Of course the socialists wanted to hijack the EU - they always want to hijack the state for their purposes. Ask Barack Obama.

The EU project was built on a "top down" model - the wise leaders would build a structure and eventually all the Greeks, Poles, etc. would forget their petty nationalism and come to regard themselves as citizens of Europe. It might have worked if they had the time and money (maybe a couple of generations of indoctrination, a few trillion of goodies), but they ran out of money before the edifice could be built. I'm not sure the analogy to the Soviet nationalities problem is valid - the EU project had less of a coercive element to it - they were going to kill nationalism with kindness (paid for with German money).
