Having lived under the Communist rule in Hungary, my parents and uncles risked their lives (and mine) to escape that regime, so I know from first hand that Communism in Hungary was not a dictatorship of the Jews, on the contrary, Jews - mostly middle class - were branded as "burgeois" and enemies of the Proletarian regime. Jews suffered under Communism, and when it became possible to escape, those countries suddenly emptied of Jews.
Braham's observation is that current East European regimes are built on a foundation of lies, they continue to lie and they will be unable to form a legitimate government all the time they keep dissimulating, falsifying the past (and consequently, the present), and they keep lying and necessary, adding more lies to their lies. They will not recover their honor and the respect of the nations without facing the truth. They have to purify themselves by a truth process like the Germans (the Holocaust), the South Africans (the excesses of the apartheid regime) and the Americans (the enslaving millions of human beings) did before.

As far as those countries' issues being normal or honest, both are caused by their aristocracy, created over millenia, being eliminated and replaced by fucking peasants.
No, the majority of the members of the Communist parties were NOT Jewish. There was a large proportion in the leadership, that's true. The Party was cruelly anti-Jewish.
Communist parties wanted to change the world and had no problems in killing their enemies. Look at China, 30 million Party members and not even one is suspected of being a Jew.

Koestler was a member of the German Communist Party which had about 60 to 100 members in the Reichstag. During the Weimar Republic era it received about 10% - 15% of the votes. It was the largest Communist Party outside Russia. By no means it was a Jewish party but the alternative, the NSDP of Hitler was closed to them.
While owning up to past crimes may be a good thing from a general moral perspective, I don't see how Germany, South Africa, or the US have benefited from it. On the contrary, it seems that the decline of those nations is precisely due to the fact that they have attempted to "purify themselves".

That's a meaningless comparison. Eastern Europe has been worse off than Western Europe for most of history, and was under commie rule for much of the 20th century.
If comparison is meaningless, let us hypothesize that (1) to tell the truth is morally right regardless of its material benefits, and (2) the truth has allowed to Germany, South Africa, America, etc. certain measure of reconciliation and pacification. I also believe that a Government based on falsities dirties, corrupts the social environment.

And what good did to the Hungarian nation to pretend that its army was heroically victorious in WWII? You can "improve" reality as the French cosmeticians/historians have been doing, but you cannot tell a complete lie and conserve your prestige.

I have never heard anyone claim that. In school we used to joke about Hungary not winning any war for more than 300 years (and even that is rather magnanimous, as it was not really the Hungarian army that ousted the Ottomans - well, probably one could come up with some, if we included Habsburg victories). You could say that the official narrative is that Hungarians lost heroically, but i see that mostly bordering a white lie. [I am not claiming that there are no lies in Hungary about the past, just that this particular example is really not one of them.]
As for Jewish predominance in communist parties: Jenő Wigner's family converted to Lutheranism because of prominent Jewish involvement in the Hugnarian Soviet Republic (tanácsköztársaság). Otherwise i have to admit not being knowledgeable in this issue.
As for reconciliation and pacification: I would remain agnostic regarding Germany and America, but South Africa clearly became more violent than it was during apartheid. Probably a few hundred Africans have died due to police brutality during the apartheid, while many thousands of rural Boer were killed since than... South Africa is on the path of becoming Zimbabwe. If i were a white South African i would certainly flee.
It is not true that, in Hungary, Jews were a majority of Communists, but as J. says, they were at times a majority of Communist leaders. The obvious example is Bela Kun, but there was also Matyas Rakosi and legions of others.
Of course, this is not grounds for killing Jews, and the majority of Hungarian Jews never supported Communism.

Hungarians see themselves as a martial people. Jobbik literature (available on the internet) glorifies Hungarian military during WWII. On Youtube one can watch old propaganda films about the successes of the Hungarian army in Ucraine. Recently there was even a memorial ceremony for "heroic" escape of German and Hungarian forces from the Red Army during the battle of liberation of Budapest.
About WWII, Hungarians feel they were betrayed and sold out during the Trianon settlement.
Lying to itself and everybody? Corrupt and inching towards fascism? Martial culture? Reminds of a certain other country....

I would guess the proportion of people with such delusions as you described not more than 10%. It is not so easy to judge proportions from Youtube - or we must know different Hungarians. You are right about the feelings regarding Trianon though.
Sorry Shebati: Sometimes a lemon is a lemon and not a methafore for Jewish suffering, sometime Hungarian fascism refers to Hungarian fascism and not to the Likud. You seem to be confused.
