Think fast / slow
I received Kahnemann's new book and already read it "fast". Parts of it have been published by the NYT, so why am I paying for the book? No fair. And I dont like the subject matter. They imprisoned a four years old toddler and put an Oreo cookie in front of him. You can have it any time, but if you wait 15 min., I'll give you TWO Oreos. After the "experiment" they followed the toddler for dozens of years and established that those who resisted temptation were more intelligent and successful in life. I'd have eaten ipso facto the cookie instead of putting my faith in those cruel, manipulative, lying experimenters. I bet Kahnemann didnt give them the cookies.
He says that thinking burns glucose, and experimentees that drank sugared lemonade made better decisions. I have stolen my daughter's Oreos and am eating them with sugared coffee. That's why this post is so intelligent.
