Social Justice or Entitlement?

"In a world where there’s plenty of food for everyone, hunger is not only unnecessary – it is unjust.

This injustice seems maddeningly obvious, doesn’t it? Everyone has the right to live, no? Everyone needs food to live, right? Then everyone has a right to food, no?

That’s what FAO, and the entire United Nations, believes. Every country in the world has endorsed the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Here’s what article 25 of the Declaration says:
“Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services…”
Sounds like a good idea doesn’t it?"

Sure. But who pays?

The Soviet constitution had all sorts of "rights" like this. Words on paper are meaningless. And the problem with such "rights" (more properly known as "entitlements" is not just the who pays issue (although that is very important) but that (in the UN version) it doesn't even mention "from each according to his abilities" - in other words it only talks about what you GET, not what you GIVE. Even Marx expected people to contribute to the society. Modern socialism is even worse - there are entire classes who sit and do nothing but collect benefits. This is very destructive not only to society as a whole but even to the so-called beneficiaries, who are in effect reduced to the level of zoo animals.

The UN was founded at a time when the world was homogeneously White. Those "rights" made certain sense because of the nature of the people.

The world has changed and today those noble ideals are misplaced and wrong.

But ideals cannot be changed and what happens is like in Latin America. Constitutions provide for all kind of rights and democratic procedures, but the unspoken reality is that none of those rights are collectable or enforceable. Only the USA is making an heroic effort to take seriously those beautiful fantasies.

You probably have no idea of just how insane the U.S. has become over "rights." Title IX of our Civil Rights Act states.

"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance..."

Title IX has caused our universities to dismantle sports activities that have a low female participation rate. For example, since women don't like to wrestle, universities have abolished wrestling. In other words women get to decide what sports are offered and played.

Now get set for the next stage of our march to national suicide. We now have pressure to apply Title IX to math, physics, chemistry, engineering, computer science etc courses. Men would be excluded from taking these courses until women reach parity. So if a college is 55% female, math classes must have 55% female students, and if they don't then men get barred from taking the course until enough women enroll.

We have no gone beyond the pale. We might need a civil war to stop our national suicide.

In due course, the pendulum will swing the other way. By then it might be too late.

But it is amazing to perceive the momentum of the current trajectory; it must be because rational men and women are not standing up to it, and something truly aweful has got to happen before the madness stops.

People are really sheeple - they will allow themselves to be led whichever way their masters tell them. I just came across an article on "Ivy League posture photos". For decades (ending in the 1970s), all Ivy League students, male and female, were required to strip naked and have their photos taken, allegedly to judge their posture, but the real secret motive was some sort of crazy eugenic project. No one objected. I'm not making this up.

Dr Zarkov,

Have American Universities abolished wrestling?

Not yet but it may come if the vote is not retired from women and the dumb (say IQ 80).
