The incidence of anorexia has been rising amongst Western women, but black women seem immune. I don't think it's a problem in Muslim countries either.
In my opinion, the epidemic in the West is related strongly to the heavy influence of men who do not desire children, in the fashion industry.
At a Body Mass Index (normal range 20-25) below 18, a woman is physiologically unable to conceive, since the hypothalomo-pituitary axis deems there are not enough calories to sustain a pregnancy, and shuts down ovulation.
Also, she loses her feminine shape and starts to look like an adolescent male.
