The caricature is from today's HaAretz, the most intelligent and well written paper in Israel (my wife is suscribed). This fishwrap is the driving force of the anti-Jewish campaign flooding Israel. The caricature shows a group of bearded religious Jews dancing with 100 dollar bills falling around from their pockets. Der Sturmer published this kind of caricatures.
The religious leaders have long said that HaAretz is antisemite and although it seems absurd that a paper founded by one of the leaders of German Jewry and written in (good) Hebrew could be qualified as anitsemite, I cannot but agree and say that HaAretz is antisemite. HaAretz and the people it represents, the leftist intellectuals, hate Jews and Judaism. Hate as in raging, furious, irrational, gut-level, blind hate.
Why should this thing be? One thng HaAretz maintains is that the religious are a burden to the State of Israel, that instead of working in the high tech sector they study ancient theological treatises full of superstition. All over the world students, specially university level divinity students, are exempt from military service and are subsidized. Religious students in Israel are NOT subsidized while (say) postgraduate studies in the Snake-cult religion of the Mayas ARE SUBSIDIZED.
HaAretz demands to stop social security payments to religious families. Apart from the sheer evility turning thousands of decent Jews into street beggars, about 60% of the religious population is under the age of 18, and in Israel's and all Western countries laws, minors are under State protection. If the parents cannot feed the children, the State takes them into institutions and feeds them and educates them till age 18. Under the Mapai regime, till the seventies, the State of Israel regularly abducted the children of large religious families and sent them to educate in remote left-wing kibutzim and "agricultural internates" so the parents could not visit them. That era has passed but HaAretz thinks that religious education is wrong and hurts the children making parasytes and bad persons from them. To HaAretz and the Labour Party chldren should be taken away from the bad influence of the ignorant parents as it was done in the not so far past. Of course caring for and educating these children within their own families costs much less than in public institutes, but they are ready to sacrifice us for the good of society and the future.
Why the religious Jews in Israel are hated to this irrational extreme and why intelligent people are demanding violent measures to punish them and their children, even at the cost of large public expenditure and risk to social stability? Why HaAretz goes to the extreme of publishing Der Sturmer caricatures against Jews?
In my opinion, the explicative power of Darwin's theory of evolution holds here. High IQ people are not having children in Israel (nor in other places). I see every day the bitterness of my friends and collegues for their "successful" but unmarried and sterile sons and daugthers, with their prestigious Ph.D. diplomas from Stanford and well paying jobs in Intel and Microsoft. I see the yellow envy in their faces when a 75 years old fellow announces in triumph that at long last he has turned grandfather.
A dying people must hate those reproducing. I can understand the theory that the genocyde that the Germans planned and executed on East European Jews was motivated - at some deep level - by the fear of being out-reproduced by them (Germans, then as today, was an aging population, while Eastern traditional masses were young and colonizing). Non-reproducing German Jews, on the other hand, were allowed to emigrate and escape the Nazi furor.
In conclusion, there is something in it when religious Jews in Israel say that they are being harassed like in an antisemite country. I shall vote for Netaniyahu.

For what it worth I believe that your theory that the well-off but sterile, are envious of the fecund lower classes, homes in on one of the subterranean cause of hatreds that if not controlled can lead to genocide. It accounts for the unrelieved hatred that followed a fecund woman like Sarah Palin. At its height, I had little doubt that given the opportunity, those well-educated women from Harvard and Columbia who were sneering at her, would have no problems parading with her head on a pike. They displayed Shakespearean envy at her good fortune in having six children and a stud of a husband. Apart from a dim Darwinian realisation that they had lost the struggle that really mattered, there is also the burden of having spurned God's gifts in their youth.

It's a dirty little secret that many of the Dutch collaborated with the Nazis. Few were punished. Most of the few Jews who survived emigrated after the war - they knew that Amsterdam was no place for Jews any more. Maybe a handful of Orthodox remain (not enough to support a full time Chief Rabbi). Of course the new, largely Muslim population that is replacing the natives is even more hostile to the Jews.

In the 19th Century in the US, there were many new Christian sects founded - among them were the Shakers and the Mormons. The Shakers believed in celibacy for all. Like today's gay people, they did not reproduce. Today there are no Shakers - they have all died off. The Mormons believed in plural marriage - successful men would take many wives and have many children. Today there are millions of Mormons (including candidate Romney).
Today the gays of Amsterdam outnumber the Orthodox. What will be the case in 100 years? If liberals want to own the future, they have to make little baby liberals. If they refuse to do so, all their ranting and raving will be for naught in the long run.

So, what is this, a campaign of hate against the Dutch, a blood libel? It's a dirty little not-so-secret that Jews were over-represented among the Bolsheviks, including the murderous secret police. Jews loved to kill Russians.

Funny, there is a word for Jew-hatred but Dutch-hatred is so rare that there isn't even a word for it. I guess the Dutch are just so loveable, even the ones that joined the Waffen SS. I wonder where in this note or other there is such thing as the above commenter mentions. I cannot but say say he must be mentally ill, although I know that Prof. MacDonald maintains that at a deep level, he is rational. Prof. MacDonald is a professor of psychology, and I am not.
Anonymous 6:56 (above) will, I hope, provide further reasons for his comment, which might seem like a non-sequitur, but I suspect what he is trying to convey is that the hatred you describe in Israel for religious Jews, exhibited by secular Jews, is in the Western World outside of Israel, directed towards whites, and especially breeding whites like Palin and Bachmann.

Liberals dont have to make baby liberals. They just convert young conservatives into liberals. And they do a pretty good job of it too.

Somewhat relate, I believe that the appointment of two (one Jewish, one Portorrican) childless female judges to the American Supreme Court will have severe negative impact on America. These women cannot but have a deep hate towards reproducing people, of any color but specially against blond Europeans (everybody loves blond children) and they will punish and harm them in any way they can. Jewish law forbids rabbinate except to 40 years old married males but today it is not respected.

It is not unusual for women who devote themselves to high level careers to be childless - it is hard to do both. I don't think that the politics of Kagan are significantly different from those of Ginsburg, who does have children. Sotomayor is a more radical leftist/ 3rd world type but if she had children this would be no different.
Leftists especially have an ability to disassociate their pronouncements from their personal life - the important thing is the political agenda, even if it contradicts their personal interest. There is a strong feedback loop in leftism - you feel virtuous about feeling virtuous and this outweighs such petty matters as money and family.

Voting for Netaniyahu is more than radical, it is treacherous. You know I was a public employee and willnot be surprised with the revelation that formally I am due paying member of the Labour Party. I didnt pay my dues for yars, but my name must be still in the rolls. I was instructed to fill the aplication form and to vote for my boss's candidate, and I did. I got my political culture in Argentina, where it was standard procedure. It would have been unthinkable otherwise. It is called caciquismo, you are a man of your cacique (the leader of the tribe). I the cacique get the sack, all his men are starting to look for jobs.
