Legionella Attack

A baby (pic) infected with Legionella bacteria died in the hospital after three weeks of aggressive antibiotic treatment. The Legionella is water born pathogen, and I am among the few water engineers with experience in projects related to it. This tragedy will cause panic and intensify the requirements for Legionella control. Work never ends, but my energy does end.

It sounds like an isolated case. Aren't such outbreaks usually connected with aerosolized water droplets from A/C cooling towers, etc. rather than from ordinary domestic plumbing?

Legionella can colonize water circulation systems under 60 degree celsius, like artificial cascades and fountains in the garden, as well as air conditioner systems. It well can live in the hospital air conditioner, a hotel or any public space. Very resistant to treatment.

What is an isolated case but a potential mass case?
