DSK Scandal: Calling Solon

Gradually it is becoming more clear that the destruction of Dominique Strauss-Kahn's career was no coincidence: it was orchestrated by his enemies. In the Guardian, he says that long before the Sofitel events, he became convinced that he was being tracked by French intelligence.
Such were his fears, he went to the length of encrypting all his seven phones to scramble his messages, though he removed the software shortly before the Sofitel events after he found that all the devices began to stop working. "I took the threat seriously." He also emphasised that the celebratory dance performed by a couple of Sofitel employees that was caught on the hotel's CCTV footage soon after Diallo made a 911 call to New York police ... "was not a coincidence".
DSK thinks that the French Secret Service did him in. About 40% of the men who suspect nonpaternity are right, so I'd venture that there is a 40% probability that he is right. Basically he fell because of hubris, because he felt too secure. Like Croesus, he thought himself invulnerable to Tyche: "Which man is happier than me?" he asked the philosopher Solon. The answer is disappointing. Croesus ends on the pyre (pic beautiful Greek amphora).

Yes it's a Greek tragedy. If he really thought he was being watched, why couldn't he keep it in his pants? And "I didn't know they were whores" defense in his other case is priceless. Didn't work for the Secret Service guys in Cartagena either. Yesterday in Washington Post there was an op-ed by an ex-sailor. He said that every drunken merchant marine knew that you should never fail to pay a whore no matter what because it would bring bad luck on the ship. Sure enough the agent who stiffed the whore (no pun intended) brought ruin on himself and his colleagues - the superstition is true.

BTW, it is just as I predicted - the US tosses out an invaluable intelligence asset (Wang) because he is not pure (though the story has changed - now we learn that Wang left the US consulate "voluntarily". Yeah, right.) But now that we have a blind advocate for the handicapped who is of no value whatsoever to US interests, he must be defended at all costs. What costs....we'll see. The Chinese can play hardball (after Wang fled, Bo had two of his associates tortured to death - just found this out) but we are playing Little League.

BTW, what honest man needs 7 cell phones?

It is barely enough to store the telephone numbers of all the hookers he has been "set up" with.

Anon.

7 cellphones because he is multitasking. There are secret numbers and there are numbers that can be never be allowed to return a busy signal (for example: that italian hottie) and others that will always be busy (for wife, for countries asking for loans). And he had always two phones with numbers available for any ocassional promising acquaintance. Really, I dont know how he could manage with only seven cellphones...
