The French have long been tolerant of mistresses and lovers. Hollande left his lover of 30 years and mother of his 4 children for a another woman. He comes to the Presidency as a man with a "companion". France is very secular and doesnt care.
In our days nothing is certain. People changes their gender physically as well as legally. You would never know. But it wouldnt make any difference in France.
