As I now see the affair, there was a middle class neighborhood with a crime problem. The police called for auxiliary volunteer patrols (as it does everywhere, including Israel. I used to patrol paired with an old English immigrant). One of the volunteers on duty suspected an outsider and called the police. The police said ignore him. But it was too late, the athletic suspect confronted the small bald man and attacked him. The small man called for help but terrified onlookers did nothing. There was a shot and the attacker was dead. Later became clear that the suspect had been on drugs and was a burglar. The media, instead of praising the volunteer risking his life to get rid his neighborhood of crime, roused the masses to lynch him. Even Obama took part in this ugly campaign.
There are political situations where a Robin Hood type criminal is popular and acquires political power. But this is not one of those situations. Here we have a violent drugged burglar attacking a pathetic neighborhood volunteer watchman. I cant see how this Trayvon could become a hero, a legend, a political banner. Well, I dont understand American politics. Steve is probably right.

It was announced today that whites are officially a minority in the US - non-white births exceed white births. As a minority, whites should be deferential. The Jews of Europe did not go around shooting the goyim.
It's easy to understand the opposite narrative. Trayvon was a boy who looked like Obama's son. His was buying candy and on the way home a white man attacked and killed him for no reason, just as whites have been killing blacks for the last 400 years. Even if this is fiction, it is a narrative that many are willing to buy.

The "white man" was in fact a Hispanic,or half Hispanic, a detail which the media finds inconvenient. The less dishonest media at least admit the volunteer was a "white Hispanic", a category which they appear to have invented for the occasion.
Obama, the "Great Uniter" has exploited this situation for all it is worth. But the facts keep getting in the way, since it is now undeniable even by the mendacious Left Wing "intelligentsia", that the volunteer was assaulted by Martin, and that Martin had been using drugs.
Obama and his poisonous entourage are what America elected, and what they deserve. This is the result of three decades of perfidy and treason, and it is about to get much, much worse.

Oh, it's not undeniable at all - today's NYT has a column about the new information that has become available. They continue to depict Trayvon as a fresh faced preteen and not a tattooed thug. If you read the comments, one poster suggested that Zimmerman inflicted the wounds upon himself in the interval between killing Trayvon and the arrival of the police, in order to provide himself with an alibi.
Trayvon's shopping list has apparently grown. In addition to the famous Skittles, he also bought a cigarette lighter (but no cigarettes). I wonder what he was planning to smoke? Tray's enablers also say now that it is well known that marijuana makes you mellow and not violent. (It also increases appetite, which may have been the reason for the skittles mission - however the story of the selfless teen who set out on a mission to buy candy for his little cousin is so much more heartwarming.
The press keeps shooting itself in the foot. First they come out with elaborate stories which suit the Narrative to a tee. Trayvon the Angelic. The Duke Rapists. Elizabeth Warren the proven Native American. George Bush the Draft Dodger. Kerry the War Hero. Gore the Environmentalist. John Edwards, Friend of the Common Man. The stories are replete with details worth of a Hollywood script writer. The only problem is that the stories and all their details later turn out to be completely false. Don't the media notice that they are now laughing stocks and that their word is now automatically doubted by 1/2 the population? Or is it good business selling BS to True Believer? It doesn't seem that way , given that newspapers are going broke on a daily basis.

Where did you hear that he was on drugs at the time he was killed? Was there a drug test? And was it anything other than weed? Could explain paranoia on Martin's part, but I wouldn't expect violence.
I don't think the point is that Trayvon's drug levels made him violent, but that he was not the innocent child the media has assiduously depicted him as.
Trayvon probably didn't need drugs to make him violent, he was clearly experimenting with a "gangsta" identity well before he was so sadly killed.
"Hispanic kills gangsta pothead in self-defense" doesn't somehow have the same ring as the pap the media is churning out; but it has the ring of truth.
And truth is what the communists want to suppress, in the run-up to the Zimmerman show-trial, and of course in the run-up to the election. The USA resembles the USSR more and more.

Whites are not a minority within the total U.S. population. Rather, less than 50% of births this year were to white families. There is a difference. It may be a harbinger of future minority status if (and it's a big if) that trend keeps up for many years. However, long-term demographic projections are fraught with error potential due to the many potential perturbations that can disrupt current demographic trends.
To add to my comment above, it does seem that a potential backlash agains such trends is growing among the native white population. Read any online news site's comments shortly after a racially sensitive crime article is published. I say shortly after publication because the most inflammatory comments are likely to be censored by the site's moderators. Likewise, read the profusion of alt-right blogs or blogs sympathetic to alt-right principles.
Unfortunately, the outlook for Jews does not look good either in the event the backlash takes off or if whites become a marginalized minority. In the first case, the alt-righters blame Jews, not entirely unjustifiably, for the immigration situation post-1965 (the driving forces behind that act were Ted Kennedy and Emmanuel Celler, who was Jewish). Jews are also blamed for the activities of organized Jewish groups and the liberal elite, among whom Jews are heavily represented, in suppressing acceptance of race-realist sentiment that could counteract the unfavorable demographic trends. On the other hand, the minorities that Jews are thought to protect don't particularly like us, so things will not be rosy if they establish hegemony.
Yes there was a drug test and it was positive for THC (weed) only. I don't think (contrary to popular belief) that being high on dope makes one non-violent. See "assassins" = hashishin.

Strictly speaking the term "Hispanic" denotes a language group, not a race. So an Hispanic can be of any race. The neologism "white Hispanic" appears to have been crafted especially for the Zimmerman-Martin imbroglio. However Zimmerman has one white and one non-white parent, so if Zimmerman is white, then so is Obama. In fact Zimmerman has a black grandparent. The American press looks worse every day. First they published an out-of-date photograph to make the public think Martin was virtually a little child. Then NBC doctored the Zimmerman-police telephone recording to make Zimmerman look like his his attention was drawn to Martin because of his race. Then the press tried to convince us that Zimmerman had no injuries to the back of his head. But as we now know from his medical report, he did. As more and more evidence emerges the more Zimmerman's self defense story looks consistent.
The key to Zimmerman's defense will be jury selection. As we saw in the OJ trial, it is possible to see the same facts in different ways depending on your bias. If you look at the comments on liberal sites (e.g. NYT) it is possible, even easy, to construct a narrative in which Zimmerman is guilty. For some reason, they keep focusing on the idea that Zimmerman "disobeyed police orders" not to follow Martin (the civilian 911 dispatcher, who has no authority to issue orders, said "you don't have to do that" after Zimmerman said yes to the dispatchers question as to whether he was following Martin). I find this laughable because if the same dispatcher had ordered Zimmerman to "go get that darkie" they would not be so into obedience to the police (which is not a typical liberal obsession anyway). I hope that Zimmerman can find 12 "white Hispanics" to sit on his jury.

In Middle Ages there was a rule that one should be judged by his equals. A policeman could not be judged by burglars.
PC trumps that in America, J. You can bet there will be one heck of a stink made by the usual suspects if there aren't any African-Americans on that jury.
Anyone serving on a Zimmerman jury must survive the voir dire, which provides the opportunity to challenge biased jurors. At one time one side could issue a peremptory challenge to a prospective black juror. However under Batson rules (Batson v. Kentucky 1986), it's more difficult. Moreover Zimmerman can claim that he can't get a fair trial anywhere in the U.S. because of the national publicity. After all we have the president (who should know better) injecting himself in this case and inflaming public opinion. Zimmerman is also entitled to a special "stand your ground" hearing before trial where he can present his self defense pleading. He could easily get an acquittal at this stage of the process as the prosecution has a terribly weak case for second degree murder. However the judge might be afraid of race riots and not give him a fair hearing. The jurors could end up having to take the heat for this bogus prosecution. They might vote guilty out of fear for their lives.
Even if Zimmerman gets acquitted in Florida he might face a hate crime charge at the federal level. The U.S. has ceased to being a nation of laws. I'm afraid it's gotten that bad.
Justice is supposed to wear a blindfold but sometimes she peeks a little bit so she can duck the rock throwers.

I think there is hope. In NJ yesterday the judge sentenced Dharun Rhavi to 30 days, a comparative slap on the wrist. He was the boy who set up a web cam so he could watch his gay roommate's rendezvous with a stranger procured from the internet. Shortly after this, the mentally unstable roommate jumped off a bridge and killed himself. The usual suspects/grievance mongers were calling for Rhavi to be sentenced to 10 years and were sorely disappointed that the judge actually had some perspective on the matter. Even 30 days is harsh for what was basically an immature but harmless prank, but under the circumstances (media circus, etc.) it was probably the best that Rhavi could expect. His next challenge will be to avoid deportation as he is not yet a US citizen.

Next, Rhavi will apologize effusively in public, attend a lachrymose ceremonial to Harvey Milk and find restitution in the warm embrace of the American Gay community.
Finally, he will get his green card, star as himself in his own movie, open up a chain of transgendered restaurants and night clubs, and end up richer than you or I.

This is part of the irony - although in the media myth he "filmed" his roommate, in fact what he did was set up a streaming webcam that made no recording, it just streamed the "action" live to a computer in another dorm room.
It's amazing how leftist memes take on a life of their own. Another one is the idea that Zimmerman was "ordered" by "the police" not to follow Trayvon, when in fact the civilian dispatcher (who has no power to issue orders) merely said "you don't have to do that" (follow Trayvon).

No, unless the NSA has been illegally capturing all streaming content (which is not beyond the realm of believable, but they would also never admit it). This was the video equivalent of a phone call - unless you make specific efforts to record it (which supposedly did not happen), the video just streams by live on your screen and is gone. There may be very limited frame buffers or whatever inside the machine but these just get recorded over every few seconds. No video was presented at the trial and I'm sure it would have been if the prosecutors had it.
