Aurora James Holmes Batman shootings is producing a new generation of conspiracy theories. Some disoriented people thinks that everything they see in the media is staged or intentionally distorted. Yet the whole Holmes story is improbable. The boy was something of a scout leader or "madrich" in Jewish summer camps. You have to be very smart to lead Californian Jewish princes and princesses - and be rehired four times. If Holmes had shown the least sign of pedophilic tendencies (you know, Batman
is homosexual) or some murderous craziness, he would have lasted less than five minutes in the camp with its precious inmates.
From this I conclude that he is normal and his Batman act is most improbable. Crimes can happen by accident or drugs but never without a cause. Give me a reason why he did it?

You don't know much about schizophrenia, J. He was a summer camp counselor years ago. Psychotic breaks associated with schizophrenia can occur only a short time after someone starts to decline from normalcy (weeks or months, not years). His age fits well for schizophrenia, and he is reported to have experienced the delusion of being the Joker. His social withdrawal also fits.
Also, just to clarify, Holmes is Presbyterian, not Jewish. He appears to have no Jewish ancestry. The summer camp was run by the Jewish community for disadvantaged kids, many of whom were likely not Jewish princesses.
There used to be all kinds of Jewish charities in the US for poor Jews. Once upon a time, there really were a lot of poor Jews in America - recent Ashkenazi immigrants, illiterate, unskilled, ill. Now there are not that many poor Jews in the US but given the iron law of bureaucracy, the charities are not about to put themselves out of business. So they continue to raise money in the Jewish community and spend it on (#1 themselves - the camp administrators and #2) on "underprivileged" youth - i.e blacks and hispanics.

Holmes may have had schizoid tendencies or have been in the early stages of schizophrenia (which often strikes down promising young people right around this age). However, he could not have been a full blown schizophrenic and yet remained organized enough to execute such a complicated and sustained scheme, complete w/ booby traps, etc.

K is right that disorganized thinking is more common in schizophrenia, but don't forget that he started at a high level of mental functioning. His behavior following arrest, or at least what we know of it, is bizarre. The catatonia could be factitious or a manifestation of schizophrenia. I just don't think it's possible to rule out mental illness yet. Also of interest, the Daily Mail is reporting that Holmes was adopted, but I'm not sure that is trustworthy info.
It is hard to imagine someone doing this while mentally normal.

I believe that K is right. This is the type of crime committed by those who think they are too good, too intelligent for this world. Those whose "dream with their eyes open". He joins Breivik and Mohammed Atta in the seventh circle. Dante apparently missed out on this kind of criminal.

For the the Left however, this trial might drown out the Zimmerman furore they hoped to orchestrate.

Yeap. Why do we always have to find some conspiracy or strange scientific reason? Evil man did evil things.
Unfortunately everybody wanted to know why he did it and maybe to see if there were others. So he had to be taken alive if possible.
I understand the reasons for a serious investigation. Police was right. But still wish they'd have shot him in the street.
I may be wrong but I have never heard of a young regular fellow killing blindly dozens of people. We are social creatures and are not wired to do those things. I think it never happened in Israel, or Germany or Russia or China, it is a thing peculiar to the American culture. Or alimentation. Or whatever. I dont know. Holmes does not even seem to be angry or have some ideological alibi.
PS The nearest scene I can relate to Holmes is ... Ajax in the Illiad killing the army's cattle. There, it was the Goddess Athena who made him to do it.

Holmes had the good sense not to shoot any cops. If he had shot a cop he would have been killed while "resisting arrest".

I think these incidents will happen wherever you have alienated young men who are not getting enough sex.

That's the Sigma/Whiskey explanation, but it only goes so far. There are huge numbers of alienated young men in the West who aren't getting any sex. Feminism and the sexual revolution has been very unkind to ordinary men. Yet very, very few of them ever do anything like shoot up a movie theater.

May be legal whorehouses would alleviate the problem. Sex, in those countries where it is legal, is very cheap.

Other than in Nevada, I can't see whorehouses ever becoming legal anywhere else in the U.S. Remember, the U.S. is a country in which a not insignificant fraction of the voting population would like to ban pornography. Sex-related issues bring liberal feminists and puritanical religious types together in alliance. No matter how much sense a countervailing proposal might make, it will never so much as receive a hearing.
There are lots of similar unholy coalitions in America. For example, in Pennsylvania we have government owned liquor stores only, something otherwise found nowadays only in N. Korea. These are kept in place by a coalition of the unionized workforce and anti-alcohol religious puritanicals.
