J checks his geography

My daughter's friend is in Japan and his hosts feel most honored to have an Israeli from Baghdad visiting them. I have such faith in the Japanese people that I decided to google the question: is Baghdad in Israel as the Japanese say or should I believe in my memory. It appears that Baghdad is a city divided by the Euphrates, which is Israel's frontier (the red line on the map). So the people living in the Western side of Baghdad are Israelis, but those in Trans-Euphrates are not. Our honorable Japanese friends were half right and half wrong, just like J always is.

And those in Trans-Euphrates are Persian?

Within living memory, there were 1/4 of a million Jews in Baghdad, so it is not so far fetched.

I think the are Sumerians and Elamites. No one ever heard of the Persians, may be you are referring to the Parsis like Freddie Mercury or Zubin Mehta?

You wouldn't want an African border that is as long or goes as far south as drawn on the map. That would make it easier for African "illegal infiltrators" to enter greater Israel.

What are borders for if not for security fences patrolled by dogs?

Every fence has holes, J It's impossible to patrol that giant stretch of border without massive resources.

That, Sir, is no reason to renounce to our heritage.
