Five years ago, the Attorney General ordered a preliminary hearing of an American Zionist activist. The man was old and very sick, clinically demential, and after being transported to Israel, he gave a very confused account how important he had been in his Brooklyn street and how he had collected donations to help Israel. He did not remember any details but suggested he had given envelopes full of dollars to Shula Zaken, Israel's Prime Minister, Echud Olmert's secretary. One the basis of that confused account, Olmert was suspected of taking bribes and was "resigned". New elections were held and Bibi Netaniyahu won.After five years the veredict is in: Olmert is 100% innocent and not only that, the fantasy-man had not provided any tangible fact or a credible story. It was the Attorney General - Lidor (pic) - who had trapped and felled Olmert. It was a political putsch. Today I heard calls on TV to Lidor kill himself. But he doesnt want even to resign, the bastard.

While the standards of proof beyond a reasonable doubt were not met, that does not mean that the accounts of envelopes stuffed with cash were not true - I'm afraid I find them rather easy not to disbelieve.

Israel's democratically elected Prime Minister was forced to resign on the basis of Mr Talansky's confused story. The Attorney General and the whole media accepted the idea that Echud Olmert was corrupt and "we always knew that". He was submitted to 154 court appearances and his whole life investigated in detail, from the monies remitted to his homosexual son in the USA to his wife's sales of paintings. The man lost 40 kg and looks like a walking corpse. And he was a very good Prime Minister. I think the case made a serious damage to Israel.
In what universe was Ehud "We are tired of winning" Olmert a good prime minister?

Just because he was a lousy prime minister is no reason for destroying him with false charges. However, as I said before, I think there is a difference between "not proven" and "false" and I'm not so sure I would go so far as to say that the charges were entirely false and without merit.

He was an excellent prime minister and was destroyed because of false charges by an American Jewish cabal that wanted Bibi. That is the latest paranoid rumor here.
